Pond Scum goodness...

Yea I'll find one eventually. :) If theres one thing i have learned from collecting all things hinderer it is patience pays off. So until my day comes I'll enjoy all the great pics in this thread. I can't wait to see lots of pics of yours once it arrives!!!

Guys, it's beautiful! :eek: I'll get some good pictures tomorrow. I don't want to ruin it with quick snapshots.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a 3" Pond was never made. (If I'm wrong and it exists, I would LOVE to see it...)

If so, there won't be since the pond scum G-10 was a one-off and is no longer available..
 
From stories I have heard, the pond color was a complete mishap, that they thought would never sell. Boy were they wrong. Someone more in the know should be along to correct anything I have said, but if memory serves, they will never be made again due to the fact that it was un-intentional.

It was some weird two color baby poop looking G10 that the shop didn't order as I recall. It was thrown in the order as a freebie and was made into scales for the heck of it. I've never seen that G10 for sale since. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
 
Thanks for the insight. Personally, (and I know I'll be shunned again since I've said it a while back) I've never really found it that appealing. I realize the rarity of it and desire because, but I don't think I would have purchased one if they were in regular production swing. (Take it easy)........
 
Like everybody else, I want one! Has nothing to do with rarity though. I'm pretty color blind so earth tones are my thing, and the pondscum is right up my alley! My extra finances were pretty much tapped with the knife itself & the pen so it'll be about Christmas before I can really concentrate on my pond scum search. Good luck to all ya'll currently on the hunt & hope ya'll leave one out there for me when I can join in the hunt!

It grew on me (fitting, given it's name I suppose). I kind of scoffed it at first but the more I looked it various pics the more I came to like it. Now it's one of my favorites (then again, I have yet to find one I don't like).
 
If I knew the supplier, I'd be on the phone trying to describe the material to see if they have any collecting dust in the back of the storage area on a high shelf, under a pile of other parts, floating upon a cloud of dreams.
 
All this talk about Pond Scum, I hate to do it to you guys, but I been tormented by some absolutely outrageous Hinderers you guys have recently posted so drool or ....

Joe, that is a great pic. If I ever saw one available, I would scoop it up in a heart beat...but I haven't been actively looking. Figured Id keep em out there for the boys in this thread droolin! ;) It would be cool to know how many are actually in circulation.
 
I find this whole thread about Pond Scum interesting, I bought an XM 18 gen three off ebay a couple years ago with the Pond Scum on it. I put in my highest bid of $550. in before I retired for the evening and upon checking the status in the AM I became the new owner. Even the seller apologized for the scale color and said he received it that way from a dealer. Because of the color there was only one other bidder besides me. Now the scale resides on a gen 4.

Yes Jason it would be interesting to know how many scales were made, maybe Rob or someone in the know will chime in.
 
FO! The way you have that one lit, it looks like the old fabled Baby Puke! They did offer a Baby Puke scale, and it was offered in that name as a one time run and acknowledged as a mistake... so I pose the challenge who has a Baby Puke scale? and can you post a pic of it for all the newbies to see?
