What makes the Glock special is not what it has, but what it doesn't have. It exemplifies minimalism. When you own a Glock you own a gun that possesses the features you need... and absolutely nothing extra.

Nice rigs

Kinda says it all,

My daughter got an XD-45, son an XD-40 & 45, and their mom got a XD-40. Fun day shopping. Took them all shooting over Christmas, I was suitabley impressed with the platform . That and the number of variants, there's a combo for everyone.

me, no polymer guns.

....... just an old beater Colt 1911 :o:D

I love and am very comfortable with my little Glock 26 for EDC, but would really like to find a .45 on a polymer platform to try. My Randall 1911 is a great .45, but heavy. Nice pictures, guys!

Accuracy is determined by the practice one puts in at the range; along with proper outdoor sighting in, ie, windage is not present indoors! Should be a nice EDC!

I know a guy in Florida who was shooting his XD45 and the barrel ruptured like a hose. It is being replaced under warranty, but it takes away my desire to own one.

After trying all sorts of diffrent guns and platforms, I'm sticking with the Glock...long as it's been shaved/stippled/1911ed by Boresight Solutions, of course. Ben makes Glocks perfect-er. :D

And Phil is right...17 moving parts, everything easily accessible on the aftermarket. Glock just works when it comes to combat sidearms.

Not really. My Les Baer will make little clovers all day long @25 yards. A Glock cannot do that no matter how much time you put in at the range. 2-3" groups are about the best that can be obtained by a Glock in my experience (and in no way am I knocking the Glock).

I was wondering about the inherent accuracy of the XD. What kind of groups can be expected (providing you do your part, of course)?

It looks like someone already beat me to part of what I was going to say--practice is one component of many that impact accuracy.

Also, maybe I am misunderstanding you, but are you saying that you shoot pistols accurately at ranges where you have to take into account windage? I have never really seen that done before. Can you please explain?
