Popular brands you have never owned?

Never owned a ZT.
Never owned a Hinderer either.
I think with both, the issue is that I like a lot of their models but don't LOVE any.
Spark told me that he is going to start carrying some Hinderer in the shop so maybe that will change my mind if I can hold one.
Make sure fondle a Bowie blade, those are awesome. I'll have Spark sell me that one. ;)

For me the list is kind of long:
Pohl Force
Lionsteel
Knife Research
Imperial (old school)
Canal Street Cutlery
Randall Made Knives
Olamic Cutlery
Marbles (old school and newer)
HI Chirwa Ang Khola (sp?) I might never get to own one of these...

Now, this is not because I don't want one, it's because I just have a list that grows faster than my income allows. At this point, I have a bit over 300 knives and I want to get rid of some to make way to some from this list.

I've never been a fan of clip points but I like that one. The wharncliffe and skinner are nice too.

I'll be sure to touch all of them.

Emerson-ZT-Hinderer= Emerson's, in my opinion are not worth the money from a material point of view and very few are attractive to me. I want a ZT but have just never pulled the trigger on one, multiple models that I would love to have... Hinderers, some day, some day

Hinderer, Emerson, Strider, Cold Steel

To most of us these are popular brands but the average joe, I would think that cold steel is the only one.

I like Hinderer but they're very pricey. I would prefer a ZT Hinderer design only for the price.
Emerson's are nice, but as most people believe they are also pricey for what you get. I would love to have one in a different, little harder steel preferably a CPM
Strider.. have been on the hunt for one (a used to start out) but haven't found a variation that I like at the right price.

I'm sure I will own an Emerson and a Strider one of these days, just not right now

ZT...they all seem like overbuilt tanks to me
CRK...never got caught by the looks/microscopic tolerances/price tag
Benchmade...only one I always consider buying, the 530, is too expensive to me "just to try" the brand
Emerson...I fell they're way overpriced, and I am always looking for value. Love the looks and the wave, though
GEC...I own many traditionals, but never got one of these because of overinflated prices in Europe
Schrade...old and new, same thing that happens with GEC. Damn taxes!

Bark River and Spyderco. Bark River are really my flavor, just never did it. I've got handfuls of Busse's, Swamps, Scrappers, Benchmades, ZT's, ESEE but never got a Bark River. I kinda quit collecting knives. I've never owned CRKT or SOG either, but they just never appealed to me. But Bark River and Spyderco have always intrigued me.

Interesting personal history. I own one Bark River branded knife and a few Blackjack branded knives made by Bark River. I always liked the Randall look, so picking up a Blackjack classic or three was not a big step.

I think we kind of get started on a path and follow it pretty much with occasional wants/whims scattered throughout the process. As I said earlier, I don't own a Benchmade knife. No real reason other than I viewed many of their models expensive. But I own other knives just as expensive.... so the cost makes no particular sense. With Hinderer, Emerson, or Chris Reeves knives, it is mostly cost. I generally like the Hinderer designs. With CR, I handle them and like them, but the cost keeps me away. Just not worth it to me to tie up that kind of money on a knife that is "just a knife" that I likely won't use. I would rather own three or four GEC slip joints.

Went for years and did not own a Canal Street Cutlery knife. Then one day, I handled one in a store and picked it up. I'm getting the traditional BF 2015 knife which is made by Canal Street. So, that will be two.... GEC traditionals were a bit of a stretch at first due to cost until I became comfortable with the quality. Now I'm sold on them and continue to purchase more.

Don't own any Al Mar or Boker that I am aware although I may have one of each somewhere. Just never really look at them. But I am going to look at the "swiss army" designs Boker has come out with. That will happen on my next visit to a certain large knife store in TN in a couple weeks.

I got started on Benchmade, then dabbled with Kershaw, Ontario, RAT, Kabar, Becker....all the heavier marketed tactical knives at decent price points then I got caught up in Busse knives and scored a limited scrapper made in INFI, then spent years getting my hands on various Busse's and Swamprats, bought a couple more Benchmade Folders, and a ZT that I love, but for the most part I've settled on the Busse's and Swamps as my favorite knives and I've just stayed hung up on them. I'm always eyeballing the BarkRiver but I need too much other hunting gear right now and I'll probably never do it. Oh...and Knives of Alaska.....always loved some of the designs and the utilitarian manufacturing and I've had good luck with D2....don't know why I never owned one.

Too many to list. For the modern knives ... choose a maker, I've never had one. Not my style.
Traditionals ... if it costs more than $40 or so, I've never had one.

I have never owned an Emerson, Hinderer, Busse. I have or have had most of the other major brands.

I have still yet to get a ZT. No real reason why as I love all my Kershaws, they appeal to me but I seem to just get side tracked to another Spyderco.

Good thing about ZT, if you had to use one for self defense and you couldn't cut someone with it, you could always throw it at them. They are quite built for a folder.

For me, it's Fallkniven. Always wanted one. Never picked one up.

Throw it open maybe you'll stick the landing.
