Possible problem with Cburgerjr

This started on 3/18/13 when I confirmed a trade with CBurgerjr. I was trading a Benchmade Warn for a Kershaw Blur and a Kershaw OD-1. I shipped the knife the next day {3/19/13}, and was told that he could do the same. On 3/19 I shipped the knife and emailed him the DC#. Any mod can email me and i will send you the DC# to show the package has arrived and was shipped on the correct date. As of 3/20/12, I have not heard from him since. I would like some form of contact, at least to let me know why the agreed upon knives have not arrived yet, even though mine arrived Thursday {3/21/12}, and we supposedly shipped the same day.

The following is the email conversation I had with him.

CB:I have a Kershaw "RED" Blur, and a OD-1 Orange w/. no pocket clip..Ill give you both for the warn
Me:Is the blur serrated?
CB:No….It’s a PE, that has been poshished…It look great…..and would be a great carry knife..Here is some pics.
Me:Looks good, I'll have to think about it.
CB:Ok, but I think it would be a fair trade…..
Me:Its a fair trade, I'm not arguing that. But, theres other offers i have to sort through. When is the earliest you can ship?
CB:I can mail , tomorrow
Me:Cool, I can mail the warn tomorrow as well

Me:Dropped it off at the post office. DC# {omitted}. Should arrive Thursday or Friday. Did you want the spring assist system with it? If so, I'll send that tomorrow.

I have not heard from him since 3/20/13
The last time he was on bladeforums as of this thread's creation was 3/24/13. He has time to browse BF, and has internet access, so why have my emails gone unanswered. I left a visitor message 3/25/13, but that went unanswered because he has not been online. An email, visitor message, any thingwould be helpful just so i know I'm not out a $140 knife. Hopefully we can get this resolved as quickly as possible without conflict.

Update:3/29/13 Still have not heard from him. If I try to email him, I get an immediate response from his email server saying it is unavailable. From my IT background, I know that servers are prone to failures, especially in the aspect of email. So far the server has been down since 3/22/13. This gives me one of two answers: either his workplace has slow IT people or he no longer has an email account at that address. And so the plot thickens.

Update: 4/3/13 Still have not heard from Cburger. I saw that he finally contacted Mono, but I still have heard nothing.

John (Cave Johnson) is a good friend of mine. I was with him when he got the offer from Cburgerjr over a week ago. When John came over to my place and said he never got the knives (This was last saturday I believe) It raised some suspicion. When I found out CBJ still hasn't contacted John regarding the knives I urged him to start this thread. IIRC I have traded with Cburger before and it went swimmingly so I'm really hoping this doesn't go sour because he seems like a good guy. John's pretty new here so I understand that he doesn't want to make a big deal about it but it's been way to long to wait for a mere reply especially when CBJ has the knife John traded him.

John. You can post the DC# here. That way everybody can see.
 
I agree the timeframe seems excessive to me, but I mentioned this the other day that we can look at this from two perspectives. Let's all give this a bit more time before we run to the forum to start a bashing thread and secondly......why does this type of thing seem to be happening more often?? In the past, people who agreed to a trade deal followed through with their part without problems and lately we have people coming on and complaining about trades not being followed through with. I will admit that I'm becoming a bit more leary in trade deals......not a great thing, but my radar is starting to go off!! OP, best of luck in your deal.....patience is a virtue.
 
Things can happen unexpectedly CJ. I understand and respect your concern, I always try to put myself into the shoes of the person posting. I realize not everyone is always connected 24/7 and have things that occupy their time uneventfully. It's always a good idea to talk things out before a trade and set reasonable timeframes for everything. If communication will be tough, then the other person needs to be made aware first and foremost. I'd say give it a couple more days and try again. :)
 
In my only dealings with Cburgerjr, he agreed to trade me a knife and was supposed to send me his shipping address. After not hearing back, I sent him an email asking if the trade was still on.... he never responded. It may just be that he is extremely busy, maybe a memory issue, maybe just no manners but he could have ripped me off then and didn't. I would give it a little more time.
 
I think you jumped the gun creating this thread. The guy has good feedback and some times things just happen for all you know he could have had a death in the family or been in an accident. Give it a little more time and keep us posted.

Keep us updated, seems like it's getting harder and harder for people in general to communicate much less complete a simple trade. We're here to help if we can.:)

Yes !! This seems to be the case with a lot of people. I don't think some people really care if they do the right thing. They are self serving jerks they get what they want from trusting people and then if they get around to it they might make it right. Sometimes they come and say sorry I dropped the ball and other times they sell there rep for $50 bucks. It's funny how they can find the time to get the other person to ship but they can't find the time to ship items out.

3/24 returned txt said he got it, but had family problems and would ship his end Monday.
 
I hope this works out for you guys. I was looking at the guys feedback. Its strange to me that someone who has 26 positives has left only 5 feedbacks for others. Maybe being considerate isn't something this guy understands.
