Post Up Your NEW Gear ...

Just picked up a new mummy bag last week... Church camps always have lost and found, with more lost than found :p

After sitting for a year, they figured the owner of the REI Polar Pod +20 had given up on taking it home and were going to donate/toss it along with all the other stuff. I saw it and grabbed it :D

No signs of wear on it, no funky smells or stains, just one perfectly good long mummy bag w/ carry bag.

What is the model of this knife?
And where is the web site of their manufacturer ?
Thank you in advance.

It's a ScrapMax 460 from Scrap Yard Knives.
Those are special offering during shows and special Busse & Kin events called Ganza. This model can't be bought from the manufacturer's store. Looks like there will be a bunch of them at the show in Knob Creek this weekend. Your other option is Exchange in the Busse / Swamp Rat / Scrap Yard knives.

Hmm, no. It's not quite doing it yet. Sure, with the axe you may intimidate somebody into saying so, but to be honest you need to do some more work yet.
Try adding a compass and a couple strings of ranger beads. as many as you can string off it. Maybe hang a Kuksa off it as well.

Where did you get it? Only place I know that has wetterlings is workwear canada, and they're a little pricey. Who is this "Warden" you speak of.

But I have a real outdoor store bubble compass on the chest strap were people are bound to see it !, when SAR finds my skeleton. :D
The hatchet was $82.00 after tax from the Wholesale sports chain. We were going to Regina to pick up a book actually and the warden (wife) wanted a clothes buying jag. No prob., she works and can spend her own pesos. I did a little mild sucking up for the hatchet and she said sure right off the hop. Kind of surprised me. As the running joke is that I have more than enough ''toys'' as we both call them. Actually she's a good heart and easy to be with, unlike my crusty self.

I have a lot of merino socks, but Smartwool's lightweight PhD is my favorite for hiking.
Hard to resist STP's double coupons sometimes, and I got 8 new pair of PhDs plus another Terramar Helix shirt, which is as good as it gets for being cool and breathable.

That looks like my sock drawer! :D

The latest, Emberlit stove, LiTech pot, Buck 102, a couple of fire steels today and a Buck 105. Waiting for a couple of Mora Companions. None of it costs much, but they are fun to play with.
:D

New stuff:

BRKT Bushcrafter, green micarta, CPM-3V w/ Exotac Nanostriker:

I picked up some Soloman 4D Quest GTX boots today. Same as you Owen, the jury is still out... Out of the box, they feel fantastic, but the snow and water on the trail have a funny way of finding faults with my boots.

Almost *all* new shoes/g-tex parkas work *perfectly* when they're spanking new! Which, unfortunately, is when everyone wants to write a "gear review" - after they've worn them for a week. Wait 6 months and see how they're holding up for ya.

not feeling the new fenix pd22's side button for changing modes so i picked up another old version pd20 before they're completely gone.

I just ordered a MLD Cuben Fiber Duomid with Silnylon Solo Innernet :) Had to sell off quite a bit of stuff to afford it, but I think it'll be worthwhile. I thought about getting the OookWorks OookNest Nano instead of the MLD Solo Innernet, but I figured I'd try the complete MLD system first and keep the purchase completely US. If there are things I don't like about the MLD Inner, I can always have a custom OookNest Nano made later.

Super excited! :) Now the up to 8 week wait begins! Argh.

Next planned gear purchases: Neoair Xlite, Enlightened Equipment Revelation X quilt, and ULA Circuit (or Zpacks Arc Blast or MLD Exodus FS).

Still plenty of room for a CCW, etc.

:D

The Companions came in today so I did a pic of my latest toys. Similar to the desert pack rat, I seem unable to walk past shiny\sparkley objects in a store without grabbing them.
