Boreal21 and a 16W solar charger. Charger has 2 USB outputs.
So weird, I JUST ordered a Boreal 21 saw from The Grommet about 15 minutes ago. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Which blade did you go with just curious? I got the all-purpose one.

I ordered the Sidney Rancher w the saw. Then orderd the leather sheath and the dry wood blade. Should be here next week. The saw is solid. Very nice

Awesome. Still waiting for mine to arrive. Have you used it yet? I'm coming from a Silky Gomboy with large teeth, how do you think this saw would compare to that?

I don't think there is a comparison. This saw will cut real rounds for a real fire. Winter or colder weather. Packs nicer than a bow saw but just as good.

Will it take blades available from a hardware store?

Thank you Bore! I really appreciate it. They make it sound on the website like you should only buy their blades for a perfect fit (at least last time I was on it), so it's nice to have some clarification.

Pete Winkler custom made Loch Ness Muk. 6" of 3V and blue burlap with white and black pin stripes. If you're familiar with this Ohio man, check out his stuff!

^^^ That's a nice knife indeed!

Anyway, my Boreal 21 saw from Agawa Canyon finally arrived today. Gotta say I am impressed with it and anxious to use it. A little heavier than what I had hoped for since I'm going to be using it backpacking but I guess that's the trade-off for it being so sturdy. Also, a few days ago my wool blanket arrived. I've always wanted a good quality American made 100% wool blanket and when I saw a great deal for this one I couldn't pass it up.

I haven't used mine other than cutting a few small rounds for the fire pit. It's nice and solid. How would you compare it to the Silky? I think it's kinda like comparing a pocket knife to a bigger fixed blade. Nice blanket can't beat wool for warmth and durability

Bought half a dozen short and long sleeved vented & lined fishing shirts. $11-$15 on clearance. They make great synthetic trail shirts. Airy and fast drying.

Haven't used the Boreal 21 yet but just holding this thing inspires a lot of confidence in that you just know it can harvest some serious wood. To be perfectly honest though the Silky Gomboy has been more than adequate for my needs out in the backcountry; it cuts like a champ and is significantly lighter than the Boreal 21. I'll take the Boreal out on my next backpacking trip but if I feel the extra weight is not worth carrying for any advantage it may have over the Silky then I'll just keep it in my Jeep and regulate it to car camping or emergency use. Either way its a great buy. A sturdy, quality piece of gear for sure.

Nice score leghog; the fishing shirts offer a lot for the money, particularly if they're treated with permethrin.

No pictures but picked up a Streamlight Protac AAA and a Silky Pocket Boy 130 for permanent places in my day pack. Having a brand new Cabelas set up new us has been nice.....
