Wow, nice man.

I've had a good couple of weeks of end-of-season sales.

Pack is a Gregory Zulu 30. I wanted a pack in the 25 - 30L class with good lumbar straps to be my new fishing pack. It's a bit of overkill unless you're hauling waders and boots a couple miles up. Today's maiden voyage was without the waders and boots, and there was a ton of space available. I could have gotten away with a smaller pack, but I really liked the feel of this pack on. Hiked about 8 miles today, climbed over a bunch of rocks while, and am not as sore across the shoulders as I would have been with my other packs. This was on sale at a outdoor supplier for about 30% off last weekend.

Boots are a pair of Wolverine 1000 mile boots. She Who Must Be Obeyed has been trying to buy me a pair of the Wolverine 1000 miles for a couple of years. I've held off thus far because I really don't see myself in leather-soled boots. We were in the boot shop again, I tried on another pair, and she was pushing for me to get them. I said that I wished they had a Vibram lug sole. The shop manager (who was waiting on us) said "well, you're in luck. They made that same boot with a vibram sole and it hasn't sold well. I'm closing them out at 50% off." SCORE!

managed to snag another new basic 10 le...#46.
