Post Up Your NEW Gear ...

Just got this in the other day. Very cool. Its basically a sun visor organizer for your car but it has MOLLE webbing on it so you can attach gear. Seems very well made (made in the USA actually) by Zulu Nylon Gear. Two rows of the webbing is elastic, making it easier to fit items through.

Just thought it was a really neat idea. Of course, I do have a GHB in my car but it is really nice to have some equipment instantly accessable without having to search through the bag. This also freed up some space in my glove box which was starting to look like a junk drawer.

Anyway, here's some pics. This is what it looks like in its normal position. On the front/bottom of the visor panel I keep a Rite In The Rain notepad and a Fisher Space Pen. Also, I now keep my vehicle registration and insurance papers on this side too instead of in my glovebox.

On the other side (with the visor flipped down) I keep a chemical light, a Kershaw Blackout, Bic lighter, Advil, and a Victorinox Classic. In the magazine pouches I keep a multitool (Victorinox Swisstool) and a Surefire 6PX flashlight. Lastly, you can see a spare magazine to my CZ75.

I'm very happy with this product so far and it seems like it holds the gear very secure (my main concern) while still being very convenient to access. Sootch00 has a video review on it as well if you're curious to see more. Feel free to embed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgJ1K3YIdc0

That is a score! Want to sell it? lol

Haha, hell no. :D It's funny, I saw it there, which was an unexpected surprise, then I figured it would probably have holes and such. Not a one, like new. I've been on the lookout for a 100% wool blanket too. Lucked out.

I too had one long ago, and traded it. I'd been pining for one ever since, and about 3 months ago picked up one in 3G. I just love it. I've had many many knives in that size range, and the F1 is still my favorite. The one knife I'll never get rid of.

I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet but I like what I see so far.

Here are the specs:

Made with 1.9oz. nylon taffeta or rip stop, coated with 1/2 oz. of urethane, with 3/4 in. webbing tabs evenly spaced along the edges. 10' x 10' tarps come with three tabs place evenly along the center seam (10' x 10', 16tabs, Weight:32 oz)

I've been using the Etowah for about four years now. That's about four week long trips per year and the thing is still going strong. I was worried about the loops at first, but the served well. I've strung it tight enough to bounce rocks off of it, but the thing keeps taking punishment. For the money, I would recommend this tarp to anyone.

bought a new pack (man that's a news flash! :D), an Exped 60 Lightning, very interesting pack- technically it's an external frame, but it happens to be pretty light for an external frame w/ a 60l capacity- right at 40 oz by my scale; it does carry very nicely- had it out on a recent four day trip in the Pintler Wilderness- very cushy hip belt, shoulder straps are decent (think they could be a little more cushy- not much weight savings by skimping there imo), roomy stretch hip pockets, it's a roll top and the material while not waterproof is very water resistant (it rained everyday of our outing). What's probably most unique is the frame setup is adjustable for torso length, you can dial in exactly how long you want it- short or tall, it's going to be dialed in. I'll be taking it out this coming weekend for a three day trip in the Crazies

it's the pack on the left
