have been wanting this little knife for some time, got a little b'day $ and figured it was time :D

put it on my small scale and the weight is exactly 2.7 oz (3.8 oz w/ the sheath), that's a lot of knife for that weight; like all BRKT knives I've owned the fit/finish is excellent and it comes hair popping sharp out of the box; the spine is nice and sharp as well and am sure will throw showers of sparks

the knife feels much bigger in hand than it's small size would belie, I've had a lot of small knives (the vast majority of my knives) and they always feel small in the hand- a compromise I've been willing to accept, now I don't have to :)

this knife will make an excellent addition to my fast & light trips!

Nice purchase. The ULB is a truly great, versatile knife, esp. for its size and weight. If I could only own one Barkie (what a horrifying thought.... ), that model would be on my short list.

^ good to know; I've heard similar sentiments from others- enough that it "pushed" me in the right direction :)

Glad you like it
use it in good health

Could you name the knife and maker?

thanks! it's the Ultra-Lite Bushcrafter, made by Bark River (CPM 3V steel)

^ nice bushcrafters!; every time I get SwissBianco's newsletter I'm always tempted to purchase another in another color :D

Mail brought these lee lead pot and a lee 1 oz slug more :D one more thing in the mail

Don't forget that you can also use this to make your own lead head jigs. I still have molds and I used to make tons of them years back. I used vinyl jig paint on them. I used to go through so many jigs in a river that I bought rubber tails by the one pound bag. I got free used wheel weights to melt down from a tire shop.

I haven't bought a modern locking folder in years, but I just picked up a Benchmade 556 Mini-Grip and I'm really liking it.

This showed up yesterday from Ragweed Forge. Easy on the eyes, good fit and finish, comfortable to hold. The edge needs a bit of touching up. I'm hoping to get out for a bit of woodsloafing today and try it out.

kifaru sheep tarp.

for the curious, the 4 corners and ridge-line are reinforced with 1000d cordura...from my experience with the supertarp, i think this is over-kill though.

also the two in the center/ridge-line are also reinforced so you can put a trekking pole or stick against it to prop it up...this feature i like so it can standup to snow load better.
