Post up your wilderness knife mods.. (Hey Fonly, that Ka-bar?:-)

I don't mod many knives unless they need repair. However this little EKA really needed a lanyard you I removed the back screw pin and installed a tube. While I was at it I also made it an easy open.

Now here is one that was in dire need of repair. This Marble Expert had no handle material left and the tip was broken off. I re-profiled the tip and added a handle made of cholla, it is one of my favorite woods knives.

I'm not really one for mods ( Don't have the tools ) but here is a Ka-Bar D2 that I stripped and polished.....

And my MOD4 that I also stripped and re-worked the edge......

CS Kuk Machete. I've shown this one before in a separate thread. Sheath is handmade by me (it's crappy, but it works pretty good...I'm not much of a seamstress). Scrollwork is done by me. (Boredom Inc.'s Dremel Division)

CS Trailhawk. Propane torch, Dremel and an hour to kill.

RAT7. Finish was damaged, so I stripped it and polished with progressively finer grits all the way up to 2000grit. I must admit that I'm thinking very seriously of finding some orange canvas and making some blue jean/orange canvas micarta slabs for it. Very tempted...

Another time when I was bored. This is a product of Boredom Inc's Filework Division.

Love that RAT7! How does it cut, being finished so smoothly?

I'd love to see some different scales for the RAT's. The stock ones are serviceable, but rather drab. If you come up with something cool, I'll be your first customer!

Found a couple more blades I've put some time into.

First is an old Gerber Gator that was given to me with a broken tip:

After I reworked it:

A Cold Steel Trail Hawk and an SOG Seal Pup that I took the stupid serrations off of:

It doesn't seem to have as much drag. You can tell a difference when you take it out of the sheath, it doesn't make a sound.
If/when I decide to do the scales and get them finished, if they turn out alright I'll post pics here.

I want to strip down my RAT-3 and do a patina but the powder coat is so good Im going to wait till it is just really mangled befor I do anything. The super sharp jimping and spine are probably gonna get rounded down as well, they wear my poor thumbs out when I carve anything. Probably leave a sharp squared off part somewhere for stricking a ferro though.

Good looking knives everybody!
