First post here. Howdy!

Camillus/Becker BK-4 Machax autographed by Ethan Becker himself. I wanted one of these when they were made in Cincinnati, but couldn't afford it. Years later, I finally bought the Camillus version just to have one, but never used it. A company I worked for had Mr. Becker in a few times to discuss menu expansion for military rations and I had him sign the knife and sheath. Oddly enough, his grandmother wrote the famous book "The Joy of Cooking" and I think he's made WAY more money from that than anything else he's dabbled in.

I think I bought these in the late '80's.

1. BK-2, with original leather sheath, and custom kydex sheath I had made for it. 4140 Steel.

2. Becker Tac-Tool. 440A Stainless. No blade coating. 6" blade, with later model micarta grips, and stainless bolts, I installed. Partially serrated. Original sheath. Reverse side marked "Made in USA, and Effingham, IL."

3. BK11-CSM. This is a new one I got recently.

Actually, these are just as they came from the factory, other than the later grips on the Tac-Tool. The BK-2 has a gray coating on the blade, and the Tac-tool is bare because it's stainless steel.

yeah, most of the original old ones did not have coatings at all per se... they were hard-plated, bead-blasted, or phosphor-bronze treated. the epoxy powder coat thing was the first real attempt...

i get to reuse my cut and paste!

none of those is stripped; nor ever coated; as is from "the factory" which typically meant Ethan probably handled them :>
