Did a bunch of fly fishing tonight. Caught a bunch and kept a few.

Had an audience for a bit...

Used my BK2 to clean these guys. The spine was ok for scaling them but honestly a spoon works better. Anyway...

No - I didn't fillet them. Heh.

Thanks much - it's lots of fun for me. Was out the other day in a local(ish) river that holds smallmouth bass and brown trout (sometimes) amongst others. Had on a white Woolly Bugger in hopes of getting a smallie or two. Saw a decent sized carp feeding in the slow water (but not far from the fast stuff). Flipped the Woolly Bugger in front of him, he snarfed it up and it was game on. He took me out into the fast water and fought me for 20-30 minutes (and 90 yards down stream) before I could finally land him.

Fly rod's the way to go.

It came fairly sharp from the factory, but I used these stones from one of our machines to really finish the edge. They're great and free!

I couldn't resist the urge to take this thing to work. I don't mean that in a digrunteled worker kinda way. I literally had two minutes from the time I got it in the mail till the time I HAD to leave for work.
