Very cool. Did you strip it or did they sell some without the coating?

I stripped it, and added a mustard patina.

It came out very nice. The naked blades just look more dramatic on the large knives.

Where does one acquire those scales? They look awesome...

There used to be two guys on Ebay who offered wood scales for the 2/7/9/10/etc. Unfortunately, it's been so long that not only can I not remember the Seller, but also can't remember what kinda' wood they are.

I'm sure those guys are still there. It may be worth your time to take a peek. Both of 'em had some pretty cool exotic wood offerings.
