Please, folks, do not post your date of birth in these discussions. It makes you vulnerable to identity thieves who piece together bits of information about a person from different sources until they have enough to use for nefarious purposes. They might find DOB from one posting, social security number elsewhere, maybe an address or phone number, a credit card number, and then they're buying stuff in your name, or even emptying your bank account.
Even an email address can give you problems with spam. I recently bought a few items from an online auction site whose name I will not mention. When you buy something, that site makes your email address available to the seller, whose computer might be compromised. A couple of days after my purchase, the daily volume of spam that I was receiving increased enormously and has continued to increase to the point where it is an annoyance even to check my spam mailbox (where there is an occasional real item).
As a rule, there is no security with emails (unless you encrypt them, but that's a pain unless your recipients have the decryption software), but posting personal information on public forums is a much greater exposure even than an email.
If this seems off-topic it's because an earlier posting in this thread contained personal info. Maybe it was wrong info, which is one way of foiling the identity thieves.
