Post your firearms collection!

Has anyone watched that show from the late 90's "Tales of the Gun"? Was a decent show that provides the history of certain guns and stuff. I noticed a few errors that I caught but other than that it was pretty neat, I liked it.

Tales of the Gun is that the one narrated by "grasshopper" David Carradine? Or was that something else. Was mostly old western style guns in the one i am thinking of.

Or there was that one with the Marine Gunny? Dang I get confused sometimes.

I'm not sure who narrated it, it didn't sound like David Carradine or Sgt. Hartman from "Full Metal Jacket" but I'm not sure.

After a lifetime... I do own a substantial amount of guns. But I'm not going to post any kind of all inclusive picture. It has been years since I even attempted such a picture anyway. Every square inch of the living room gets covered with guns and you end up taking such a wide angle shot that you can barely even ID any of them.

Sometimes I post a pic or two of one specific gun if there is some type of question. But I have to agree that posting photos of collections on the wide open internet is probably a bad idea. The government is one reason. But the more substantial reason is probably "the others" out there that would like to pay a home visit and take away those guns. I'm home 24 hours a day and live with 15 large dogs inside and outside so I'm not really worried about it... but that doesn't mean you should poke the bull!

I do have a question for Bawanna. The picture with all the khukuris in it. One of those really catches my eye with the graceful curves. Ignoring the ones hanging straight down and counting only the horizontal ones... 7th one down from the top. Blade tip pointing to the left. Shiny blade. Is that an HI knife? Nice size, just beautiful. What is it??

Thanks,

Gregg

That is indeed an HI. It's a Trisuli Ghaule, I might have the spelling messed up on that. You have an excellent eye and that is probably my hands down favorite for the way it feels in hand. Weight and length just feel great.
It has almost a brushed finish.

If had to bug out and only grab one knife to do it all, considering weight and function etc, it would probably be that one.

I have ten or so HI's. Not one of those. Are they still making them/importing them?

Thanks,

Gregg

I couldn't say for sure. I don't recall seeing any others come up since I got that one. You might ask Auntie. Only she would know for sure. Who knows, she might have one.

I suspect if she doesn't it might be awhile till they get caught up after power shortages and other issues in Nepal.

Beware the man with one gun... 1919 Colt Model 1917, cut to 3".

LOL - I hear ya', brother. I actually lost all of mine in a terrible house fire -- that white revolver is the only one that survived... I swear!

Bwanna, That's one of my wife's nick names for me! Great name. I really like your parnter with you in the picture with the happy smile and big paws.

hell ship it to my gun shop.i will put in my trust

LoL, Got no problem with the 79. Just can't seem to get the paperwork back on a crate of 40mm so I can actually pick them up and go shooting. It seems my husbands class 2 explosives license is currently in danger because the review of our location was not performed when it was supposed to be and now it shows that we don't have enough land surrounding the magazine they are to be stored in. Even though it was passed 9 years ago when the 79 first came home (with rounds). Basically the current CLEO is trying to force me to either sell it or get it the hell out of his jurisdiction one way or the other. But I am not planning to give in LOL. One step at a time, we will jump through all the legal hoops and then he will have to sign. Meanwhile I can still blast away with chalk and flares, just no H.E. rounds

O.O I'm not sure I can even own a grenade launcher in Canada let alone get ammunition for one!

I need to move to the US... At least in most states the right to defend yourself isn't limited your fists...

Hell from what I've read, if an intruder was in my house meaning to do me harm and I shot him with my legally owned and configured shotgun I'd be the one leaving in steel bracelets... I figure if anything I'll buy some land in the middle of nowhere I'll, put my shack in the middle of the land and I'll keep a ruger sr22 rifle with 25+ round magazine close by. .22LR may not be an ideal home defence round but the shots won't be heard outside my property... I doubt your average home invader could tell the difference between an SR22 Rifle and any other actual 5.56 AR platform rifles... Especially by looking down the barrel...

Only other person I've ever heard of with bwanna as a nick name. Some think that's my real name and use Joe as a nick name. I've had it far back as I remember. I think it started back in my hunting days.
That's actually not my partner, wish he was. He was a service dog in training that one of our sgts families was training. They ended up getting him back. He's a good dog, just didn't get along well with other dogs.
A detective came up with the idea of the blind sharp shooter or something there. We no sooner took that pic when an actual blind boy came up to our booth. We gave him VIP treatment. He got to play with all the toys we had, checked out the truck, the full meal deal.
I'm dogless at the moment, haven't considered a replacement for my Odie the wonder beagle. I wouldn't mind a yellow lab. I've had blacks and chocolates, they are great dogs.
