Post your Huntsman knives!

Alright, guys, I’ve come up with a new sharpening idea. To my surprise, CBN (like diamond but more delicate) with a 20/14 micron rating, roughly 800 grit, performs at the same sharpness level as 1 micron, which is around 10,000–15,000 grit, likely with an even higher level of aggression. For this sharpening method, you’ll need something like 3 stones, even if your blade is completely dull. But if your blade already has an edge, as is the case with all Huntsman blades based on my data 😁 , you’ll only need 2 stones, not even 3.
I’ll show you some microscopy, though it doesn’t look as nice due to my suboptimal lighting. But my new microscope with 1200x magnification and perfect lighting is on its way, so I’ll soon be able to show microscopy and results about three times better. Anyway, here’s an interesting observation: CPM3V and Z-Tuff, used in Huntsman knives, are fairly easy to sharpen with highly aggressive abrasives like diamonds and CBN. You can reliably remove the burr without creating a new one, likely due to excellent heat treatment and hardness of 61 HRC or higher. Honestly, based on my own tests—and I’ve sharpened a lot of CPM3V—no other CPM3V has been as easy to deburr under a 400x microscope while using an 800-grit CBN abrasive. Frankly, this says a lot about the steel. I’ve sharpened CPM3V at over 63 HRC, a custom skinning knife purely for hunting with a thin blade, and yet, with my Tyrant Bowie’s 3V, the burr removal is even slightly better. Surprisingly!
(Guys, if you're sharpening carbon steels, go for diamond or CBN; they're the best you can get and work extremely well with these steels.)

You know, with the number of tests I’ve done, I’m still amazed by Z-Tuff and CPM-3V steels used in Huntsman blades. Both steels perform so well in tests that I want a 1200x microscope, more tests, and to structure everything to make a full-fledged video on this topic. I want to show just how great these steels are in these blades, providing ALL the evidence with a ton of tests. Honestly, you’d be surprised. But I need time—I suck at creating content, plus the microscope will take about a month and a half to arrive.

I went to buy some wood from the local guys to do my usual wood-chopping workout.

- "Yeah, completely clean."

I’m used to there being some tough, dry knot in the wood.
But as I was chopping, I heard a really loud sound.
It was a self-tapping screw.

You’d call an ambulance, but not for Tyrant.

Honestly, it’s pure luck that I didn’t damage the blade’s edge, because chopping wood isn’t the same as punching through an aluminum plate.
I think the 22-degree angle on each side helped it survive this situation without a scratch. 😎

I was trying to find the thickest branches I can cut through in one chop. This was the thickest I could find, but it could do a lot more. With how deep it bites, anything it doesn’t chop through in one go, I just rotate and chop around the branch and all it takes was 3-4 chop to get through. In the beginning I was trying to chip off the branch like an axe (as seen with the messy stump it's sitting on), but this is way faster and less effort.

Thanks for letting Chad hold on to your knife for the making of these sheaths - I got this one delivered this week, did kangaroo leather, looks great with the gold/carbon fiber - nice work cpirtle cpirtle !!
