Post your ONE survival hint here....

Think outside the box...and free your mind to accept alternative possibilities, adapt improvise overcome...darwin, I ching all that stuff. An open and educated mind and an unbreakable will can be more valuable than any other tool, or kit, IMHO...and practice practice practice...I'm a big believer in back yard survival, findout what works.

"Thus we see that the all important thing is not killing or giving life, drinking or not drinking, living in the town or the country, being unlucky or lucky, winning or losing. It is how we win, how we lose, how we live or die, finally, how we choose."
Reginald Horace Blyth (1898 - 1964)

When you find yourself in a survival situation, do not focus on the outcome. Focus on how you are choosing to survive in the moment.

And bring a tarp - you just might need it!

Work on outdoor skills with children. It helps keep focus, calm and simple. Just what we need when we have to use those skills.

what briggz said. you can every gadget and trick they make, but if you can't use it...what good's it do ya?

Carry a knife and firesteel and whistle...if lost sit down ,quit moving around blow whistle a few times listen for a response...wait for help...

If you're in a third world country (or anywhere the water or food might contain parasites your body isn't used to) chew a couple of pepto-bismol tabs morning and night and it will keep your GI tract somewhat coated. Last times I was in Haiti I did this and didn't get the runs when everyone had them was or like I had on my first trip.

but be a gentleman/lady and carry a handkerchief. Better known as the bandanna. A truly multi-purpose item. Carry a few.

Be aware of your limitations. Be willing to make a tough/ unplanned judgment call regarding a planned itinerary.
