Mighty Beanz, which are still in stores. They're like those old Mexican Jumping Beans we used to play with; they have a metal ball bearing inside that makes them flop back and forth. They're kinda dumb, but I have never grown out of silly, small, collectible toys. They don't take up any space and there's so many different ones to find.
When I got back into buying MUSCLE figures, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia that was almost overwhelming -- I totally did a rewind to when I was 6 or 7 years old. After I'd amassed a decent amount, my parents happened by the house and I showed them to my mom. She was blown away, and sat with me checkin' 'em all out and talking about how she used to drive me to Toys R Us to buy a few packs with my allowance, and how I'd go through every pack, one by one, until I found just the right ones. I went through all the usual 80s toy phases (Masters of the Universe, TMNT, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, M.A.S.K., Transformers, GI Joe, etc.), but for me, MUSCLE figures were my absolute favorite.
I'll throw up some more MUSCLE pics (knife-related, of course!) shortly.![]()
Very cool. I too collected the 80s toys. Nostaligia for the win! The GPK cards were super popular back in the day too.
