Costume Party contest at a snooty art college. (Beaux-arts Ball)

My wife and I decided that since most of the kids there dressed in Goth, we would make a parody of it and go as "American Gothic" - you know, the painting with the farmer outside his house holding a pitchfork?

I dressed in an odd mixture of black shirt and jacket with overalls underneath. Black eye makeup and black fingernails. My wife donned black clothing over a puritan pullover dress as well as black eye shadow.

We were a hit. I think we must have given our classmates quite a shock - after all, we were the uptight "normal" folks...
