Postal Packages

So on a good note. One of my packages with USPS finally delivered. So it was well over a week + late. Hit a distribution center and stalled. Then after tracking was stopped for two , three days. Bang !!!! Tracking hit that it was at local PO, then Bang out for delivery ! Delivered !!!!!

So hang in there :-) I hope all your packages arrive :-)

Just picked up 4 more deliveries today. All ordered in the 3rd week of November. I expect the remaining ones to come in the next 3 days. There might be a couple that will arrive after Christmas though.

I was thinking about This too.

All Other avenues have been quick, and with good tracking. Even the big river, with Next day shipping!!!

But with USPS (mailed) it's been much slower....not horrible like some. I got everything, but with many extra days added to the shop date.

In fact, I don't mind the lateness so much as I hate the Lousy tracking.
I've only been getting the departures..... Then 5-8 days of nothing. Then it just shows up.....

Hard to guard my porch from the pirates That long, without knowing When?

That's interesting. You are near Olean?

Yes sir. Our USPS here has been pretty spot on the whole time. Most all of our packages route through Buffalo or Rochester so it seems all of WNY is up and going. The only package I’ve had get held up for over a week was a knife coming from IL. It sat there for 9 days before getting out of the distribution center. Then it showed up to me 2 days after. Everything I’ve sent hasn’t had an issue.

My fiancé seems to order a lot of stuff online. She’s a deal shopper so she’s always finding something that she’s been waiting to see on sale. She hasn’t mentioned many packages being late but there has been a couple.

Our issue has been the way companies are packaging stuff or how some boxes are showing up. A package from Amazon of hand warmers came totally smashed like an accordion yesterday lol.

Still waiting on 2 packages. One reached MA on the 8th and no further updates. The other I'm not sure when it shipped, and don't have tracking (it was a GAW), but it's been 13 days since I provided my address.

That certainly is a concern. At least for us, I have always gotten tracking when it reaches my local Distro center, then PO, then when out for delivery so I know that day if it will be delivered. Now, timing has been inconsistent. I've had them do the early morning drop off before they do their regular route, which is nice. Then there is the regular time which is mostly around 1pm but can vary until late afternoon. What sucks is a few times it has been well after dark. One time, tracking said out for delivery but then at 9:30pm or so tracking updated that the carrier couldn't reach our address, although he had delivered other mail that day. Seems like he just missed it and it was delivered the next day which is fine, it is the 30 days no tracking instances that get my hackles up lol.

Thanks for the info. I always think it is interesting the way this sort of thing works for other people. We aren't all that far from each other but have had very different experiences, and I live in a much more populated area (Lehigh valley has maybe 300,000 people, two hours from NYC, and an hour to Philly).

Interestingly enough, I've had the best results during this mess when things come from up your way.

Update to my USPS experience. I recently sent 2 packages. One arrived a week late, which is fine and understandable at this time.

One I dropped off at the post office 12/14...still hasn't even been scanned. I printed the label and dropped it off in one of those Parcel things inside the actual post office. I have since wrote it off as lost and talking to the buyer and seeing if he wants a refund or wait it out. I am not using USPS until next year.

I still love USPS and will ship with them in the future, but for now if I need to send something, FedEx or UPS it is. The extra cost is worth not having my package lost (or in this case, not scanned after 5 days).

Some tractor-trailer rigs full of mail or waiting to load mail have been parked outside the main Akron, OH, Mail center for three days. Cleveland PO has rented warehouse space to store packages that are stuck there. The famous "high-speeed sprting machines" sort envelopes - mainly the disappearing First Class.

My local PO's telephone remaoins busied out, but I have to call from the drugstore as my Spectrum telehone service died at 3:45 AM December 18th. Spectrum has no way to report a telephone service outage except by telephone. Spectrum "Chat" and "On Line Adviser" do not recognize the topic "service outage." Obviouly, not a topicSpectrum wishes wishes to duscuss.

My meds stuck in Columbus for a week and then sent to the wrong PO 40+ miles across the Cleveland blob, are still there on the fourth day.

Just shipped 2 packages across the country. Seattle area to Texas and Illinois via USPS Priority Mail. Shipped Monday and delivered Wednesday and Thursday.

I have a knife on the way here in Oregon. It was shipped out of a town in TN on 11/23. It was last processed in Memphis, TN on 12/12. No further tracking updates since then. I’m glad it’s nothing important.

No mail delivery anywhere on my road from crossroad to crossroad. Red flags for mail pickup remain up. But it's Saturday. Road dry.

OK. But it's Saturday somewhere, o_O and we got no mail yesterday.

Package misdirected to Bay Villege still in Bay Villege. But, as you point out, it's Sunday here.

USPS should at least partially refund significantly delayed shipping. This has become ridiculous because as someone mentioned above, many other postal services have been much faster than USPS.

I just had a Priority Mail package delivered late Sunday afternoon. I didn't know the Post Office was doing Sunday deliveries but I guess with the backup they don't have much choice. It was just a coincidence that I happened to check my tracking and when it showed "DELIVERED" I went to check my mailbox and was happily surprised. It was running about 3 days late and didn't show any tracking whatsoever after the Texas Distribution
Center and until it finally showed up.

USPS is operating at close to a $20,000,000,000 deficite - about 2x 2019. Any refunds will be paid by tax payers or anyone having savings or property, however modest, through the combination of taxes and devaluation of the Dollar by printing more currency - an activity going on 24/7/365.
