Postal Packages

My two overdue USPS parcels of meds are still in USPS Never-never Land: "in transit"

The one misdirected to the wrong PO 40+ miles away, has now been misdirected from that incorrect location, Bay Villege, Ohio, to an even more incorrect city, Pittsburgh, PA - getting regressively further away.

So, after twelve days, my medications are now further away than when they were initially received by USPS.

It took effort, not the absence of someone to make an effort, to twice send my meds to the wrong location.

I recall slightly over two years ago, when USPS sicence fictional tracking claimed a parcel from Finland circled over the Atlantic for days and days after leaving Heathrow - nine days IIRC. Of course, no airplane was or is capable of such a feat. A USPS employee, by telephone to JFK, told me the truth - mountains of parcels were stuck at JFK. The parcel arrived weeks later, after two - TWO -detours to Chicago (I'm just east of Cleveland).

Not sure who is to blame, but USPS service is poor, at best.

Update to my USPS experience. I recently sent 2 packages. One arrived a week late, which is fine and understandable at this time.

One I dropped off at the post office 12/14...still hasn't even been scanned. I printed the label and dropped it off in one of those Parcel things inside the actual post office. I have since wrote it off as lost and talking to the buyer and seeing if he wants a refund or wait it out. I am not using USPS until next year.

I still love USPS and will ship with them in the future, but for now if I need to send something, FedEx or UPS it is. The extra cost is worth not having my package lost (or in this case, not scanned after 5 days).

Good News! Package tracking updated and is set to be delivered today!

USPS should at least partially refund significantly delayed shipping. This has become ridiculous because as someone mentioned above, many other postal services have been much faster than USPS.
While I certainly do believe they should not be charging what they do on the 7 packages I had that averaged 15 plus days in the system, I think refunding will only exacerbate the problem, as the reason we are in this slow down is because of "budget cuts" and "cost saving measures" implemented from above.

Well I shipped a knife out last Friday. USPS Priority Mail. Never showed up in tracking. Printed label, everything clear and legible. They delivered the knife yesterday, to me, at the return address...

I ordered (on December 18th)one item before the holidays I accidentally hit the express mail for shipping (guaranteed 1 or 2 day delivery) I thought what the heck with everything going on I’ll stick with it. I still have not received it as of now. Looking at the bright side instead of waiting up to a month for it I should receive it in the next 3 days hopefully.

I've had very good service from the USPS over the years. Right now, today, I'm very frustrated. I mailed two packages to the East coast on Dec 15th, one Priority. The non-Priority has traipsed all over NJ and is being delivered today. The Priority, which has my daughter and granddaughter's presents, has shown nothing but "in transit" since the 20th. Other packages are in transit all over the US but packages we mailed to Tasmania, Australia and Poland have all arrived in time, no delays.

I purchased a watch that has been travelling to me since 12/8 ... the past 5 days it has been in transit in District <yes, that District> Heights, Maryland fer cryin out loud!

I wished I hadn't read the reviews of that PO.:eek:

This particular PO has a slogan engraved in the granite above the door that reads: "Abandon all hope, ye parcels that enter in."

We just got in the mail yesterday a letter mailed from down the street on 12/6! Olight shipped a package to me from China on 12/17 that got here this morning via fedex, with free shipping.

I also have received 2 shipments from Olight in China, both were shipped with DHL, shipped on Tuesday & here on Friday
USPS, UPS & Fedex could learn a lot from this company, when they deliver your package they snap a picture of it & send it in your confirmation tracking

I posted above and that has not been resolved. The PO tells me it's because of individual state's Covid regulations, I'm not buying that. I now have a total of five Christmas boxes in limbo, no tracking updates, just "in transit", all for 9+ days. Some disappointed kids and young people in my family!!

I had an issue locally, yesterday a knife from Phillip Patton was shown delivered to my box. Wrong, the box was empty! I went to the PO and told my story, 8 hours later I got a call that it was in my box, this time for sure. I didn't ask for an explanation and none was given.

Olight shines again, I ordered the new Freyr light 12-16-20 with in 2 minutes of the sale starting time, and they said it would be here by Christmas which I did not believe, after 3 or 4 days the status said shipped, never got any tracking from them which is rare to see who the shipper was, USPS, UPS, Fedex, or DHL, at noon Christmas Eve Fedex drops it on my front porch, needless to say it made it by Christmas.....:D:)

Same here but I ordered at the end of the sale on 12/17, I got a Seeker 2 Pro and an MR2 Pro-Warrior in blue. I did not believe them at all that it would be here by Christmas. Even the Fedex tracking said Monday 12/28. It was here before noon on 12/24! They even included an Olight Santa Key-Chain in a gift bag/box. Nice touch and impressive shipping!

I always considered Fedex the lower of the big three with USPS being the top. Well, no longer. USPS dropped the ball big time this year (no fault of the workers) and if they don't get stuff figured out at the top, bad things will happen to our national mail system. I fear permanent damage has been done this holiday season. People won't forget how many a Christmas was ruined during a time when our country needed it most.

Again, and in general, no fault of the employees.

Very cool lights you picked up, the Santa Key-Chains & book marker are already on eBay for $30.00 To $40.00 Dollars, Who Would Guess.........

I think people will still use USPS in droves. The cost is just so much cheaper than UPS or FedEx. Shipping a knife via USPS costs around $8 USPS vs $20 for UPS or FedEx. Yea USPS is in a shit spot this year, but they still have decades of a good track record.

I know you aren't blaming the employee's or anything, but I think a lot of people are loosing track of what is going on in the world. A global pandemic, USPS's leader purposely crippling their own system, everyone buying online/mailing shit since we aren't seeing people in real life. It sucks that little Timmy wont get his Christmas gift on time, or that our knives are stuck somewhere, but in the grand scheme thing of things, unless you're waiting on medication or something, it doesn't matter.

Seems like some USPS issues are local. I had a parcel shipped from Durham NC. Took only 2 days to get all the way to Detroit. Then it sat in Detroit for 34 days before getting to Livonia where it was out the next day.

Have a package that was supposed to be delivered on the 4th. Last update was the 7th. Giving it till the new year before I have to contact the seller.

I ordered a few things from Amazon this past Monday. The two items that shipped from Amazon through USPS made it on Christmas Eve even though they weren’t estimated till the 29th.

The one item being sent from the store itself vs Amazon was shipped UPS and is still in transit. Guess USPS won this time again.

Seems some of USPS has their head out of their ass, other places not so much.

i have a watch that is over a week late and counting. Shipped a knife last monday to someone thats 300 miles away, same state, its still stuck some where. We were just hit with a storm in the north east last week, so im sure things will move eventually.
