Prayers Requested

A bit of good news a little while ago.

They've gotten two of the vertebrae that were out of place back in alignment, and some of the swelling has gone down.

Still waiting and hoping.

Terrible thing to happen. I hope all turns out well for the family.

Right on. Hopefully they will continue on with that fortune and he'll have feeling back soon.

good news indeed. glad to hear it!!

May he heal quickly.

Almost the same thing happened to me a few years back. Went body surfing, my head got caught on the beach and the wave flipped my body right over my immobilized head. My vertebrae were also popped right out of place.

Prayers to him and the family.

Just got off the phone with my cousin.

She said her husband's feet did respond to stimulus (toes curled) today, and some sensation has returned around his ribs on one side. After the accident, he couldn't feel anything below his chest.

They want to do surgery to replace a disk on Sunday or Monday and then get him up to a spinal clinic in Atlanta.

Thanks to all for all the well wishes and prayers.

im no doctor, but that is very promising.

i assume since he is getting feeling in his feet and torso, there is not spinal cord damage?

MORIMOTOM, I don't know that he can feel his legs and feet yet. Just was told that his feet did respond when scraped along the bottom. I think feeling has only returned (below his chest) on one side near his ribs.

Still good news though.

He's going to have a long road regardless of the damage, but we are all pulling for little improvements that will give him and his wife some hope. Right now, they are still administering steroids and trying to combat swelling so that they can get him into surgery.
