The Cold Steel Trailhawk is popular, but to be honest, I really don't like the way Cold Steel portrays their products.
They have yet to get my buisiness because of it.

I agree with this. I doubt I will give them any more business. However the trail hawk is cool and cheap and when I got it I didnt know about the company.

ayup, same here. Irresponsible and getting away with it.
It's too bad, 'cause their hawks are hard to beat for cheap throwers.
But for only a little more you can have a US-made forged hawk with a whole lot more pride of ownership.

I've been wanting a good hawk since the last BeckerWest gathering.
I went to the H & B Forge website.
Seems like a good company. Their pricing is fair too.
I might have to hit 'em up.
Which models do you have Murph?

Does anybody have experience with Allan Foundry hawks from Ragnar's?
If so, which model?

I have the Shawnee and the large camp axe. I didn't even know they had a website, thanks for the lead! I bought mine awhile back here at local frontier trade festival.

on that hoot of a one sale a day website, they are having a HELL of a sale on Shun kitchen knives.

$300

No, HOWEVER! They are kitchen knives, and as we all know a good kitchen knife is an amazing thing to have.

Those are what we use at the restaurant and I can attest to their amazingness. The fact that they AREN'T Becker knives is why they don't have their own thread.

We had the 10" SHUN knife at the restaurant but the handle kept getting in the way, so we took the black part of the handle off and ground down the tang. Made that knife one HELL of a chopper.

I definetly will. See i really didnt like the esee 6 at all, it just didnt feel good in my hand.I got it thinking it was exactly what i was looking for. the perfect knife for me to use. i love my beckers but the 11 is small and the bk2 is too thick, The esee 6 looked like the perfect knife for what i wanted but when i held it, it just wasnt MY knife but everyones different i guess. Everything i wanted the esee 6 to be the ratmandu is and more plus it looks better :)

Now the 16 looks like it might be my everyday user tho i like how it looks on paper i just need to put it in my hands because they are the boss in this matter.

if you like the feel of the Becker handles, check out the Ritter Perseverance Mk2. ("BK12") 6" drop point blade 3/16" thick, made by the same folks who make ESEE knives. you pay more for it than you would for a Kabar Becker, but it's a small batch knife with a perfect 1095 HT.

yea i have been looking at the hawks on the HB forge site and wolf creek forge from here but i like the look and price of the Shawnee Throwing Tomahawk from HB. And i really like some from Fort turner as well. i will most likely be picking from the shawnee thrower at HB and the buck hawk from fort turner.

And i like the Mk2 but id preffer to wait on the bk10!

And my missent package with my bk16 and bk14 got back to philly so maybe ill get it today or 2moro :)

I've decided, I'm not even going to attempt washing dark socks anymore... I'm going to just buy new ones when I run out of clean ones. It isn't worth the hassle of trying to match up socks where there is only one no matter HOW many pairs you do at once.

throw all the old dark ones out.
Then buy a bunch of new identical dark socks in bulk.

Good morning,ya'll.

I talked to Kabar and it seems there will be a care package arriving in the short while. That means I can get some contests rollin' again........

SNAARK!

I just got myself a Gränsfors Bruks Small Forest Axe. Getting out to the woods tomorrow, finally, for the first time in months! And there's snow!

I also got a pair of Claw Gear pants, the Stalker TDU MkII model. Very sturdy construction, integrated kneepads that can be cinched down with elastic velcro straps and loads and loads of pockets. I'll do a short review on them when I've had them for a while.

ETA: HELL YEAH CONTESTS!
