prefered knive carry when backpacking

I recently tried a drop-loop style sheath, and it works for me. Previously, I attached my normal sheath (Tek-Lok attachment) temporarily to the pack waistbelt, but I never really cared for that method.

My drop loop is added on to a normal sheath, so it can be removed or folded back and the sheath worn normally. I really like this arrangement.

i recently bought two knives for the purpose of backpacking/camping....

The RC6 which will go on my pack and the RC3 with will always be with me... the RC3 comes as kit (basic right now, but i'll add more to it in the next few days), about 25' paracord and my fire steel with a whistle...
