Prepare for a takeover.... The secret order of the leg knife is no longer a secret.

Maybe we need a male leg knife for the rougher cover materials.

Here's one from Sheffield museum Blaine (apologies for the very poor quality pic)!

Forum knife 2014?

Think it's been suggested in the past! We can have endless debate about what size feet the lady has! :D

My girlfriend has one of the RR models, but don't think it's much use as a bottle-opener.

FYI; The Leg Knife was a very well liked Traditional Pattern from the late 19th-early 20th Century Era. Popularized,in part, as "Thumbing your Nose" at the WCTU. Now go look up WCTU.

And EVERYONE would get the opportunity to stamp their feet (or at least have a stamped foot)! ;) :D

OK, for that reason alone I would have one.

So did it come with miniature lace bloomers? I mean, please, Grandma, nobody wants to see your gnarly bovine gams!

! :D

It's the juxtaposition of non-ladylike scale materials and textures on what is supposed to remind one of the pleasant shapes of the female anatomy that causes cognitive dissonance.

I'm still laughing about that one.

One would think that a TRUE Knife Afficiando would appreciate the qualities of all types of Cutlery.

A cutlery shibboleth of sorts, eh?

Maybe we need a male leg knife for the rougher cover materials.

Why does that sound so much worse?

Purely as a cutting tool and bottle opener the leg will work like any other I'm sure....

Perhaps? The angle on some of the "shoes" looks to be better for bottles than that of others. No offense to Woodrow's Lady Leg, but it looks lacking in the lifting area.

Dude, that's just a doll leg someone affixed blades to.

You've mentioned the Prohibition angle before. Now, that's interesting.

OK, for that reason alone I would have one.

You rebel, you.

... All of the above only being the prelude to saying,

Woodrow! You look good in Gold. I like the avatar. :)

Quote from the future:

"In retrospect, GEC went bankrupt by staking the future of the company on the Male Leg Knife. Based on market research involving scanning through BladeForums, we identified an unsatisfied market niche and produced a limited 15,000 piece run of what we thought the market was clamoring for. Turns out we misinterpreted dry humor and emoticons."

Don't let this happen!

I've seen a few folding knives modelled on Bambi's leg!

You can definitely pop tops with it. The "heel" of the shoe isn't very wide though. I've noticed when popping tops that it will pull a little section of the cap way upward, but the cap gives and you end up having to lift adjacent to the first lift to get the cap off. Very similar to using a blade cap lifter. It doesn't grab much real estate. If the cap doesn't have much strenth you end up pulling a narrow section of the cap over the lip of the bottle...it's not enough to get the cap off the bottle with one lift.

The red stag two-blade has been riding in my watch pocket for the last several months. It makes a better bottle opener than the caplifter blade on the 2011 forum knife, and some of my whittlers wish they were ground as thin as these leg knives. I was using that stag Kate for a straight razor while I was trimming my beard around the corners of my mouth yesterday.

That actually resembles a prosthesis. The slang term for a condom is French Letter or as we say here in parts of Australia "Franga" (rhymes with banger).

Do the caps mar the bolster up a lot though? I would think the nickle silver is fairly soft? Or is it steel?
