Certainly not intended as Spam, thought it relevant to the "Knife World".

Well, if you were associated with Kevin "Mad Dog" McClung for the VIM Knife Facility, your post would probably be considered as self-promotion, which, as a registered member, would be against the rules for you and your level of membership.

But since you are just an average knife user, VIMforMD, in no way associated with VIM for MadDog, and are just sharing a bit of information you came across, I'm sure it's not spam at all.

When you consider that before he joined VIM his knives were in the 700 to 1300 dollar range, and now are in the 2000 to 3800 buck range. For differentially heat treated O1. Yeah thats absurd pricing. There are literally hundreds of tremendous knife makers who do that and better with other steels for a fraction of that price.

Sorry for the offensive information. As I said, thought it relevant information in the Knife Forum. Of course I am associated with Mad Dog, as you clearly picked up from the sneaky username "VIMforMD". I am sure the resurgence of new Mad Dogs is of interest to a segment of Blade Forum's users. He is one of the World's top custom knife makers and many people have been asking about the absence of new Mad Dogs in 2014. Thank you for bringing it to my attention that my post might be considered "spam". I will handle the output of this kind of information differently in the future.

And thanks for saying that while continuing to promote your product without the proper membership level.

You brazenly ignoring the rules of this community that you agreed to abide by when you registered has changed my opinion of the maker you do PR for from " indifferent" to "strong negative." And that is without taking your comedic overpricing into account.

where in Utah are you guys ?

Thankfully, I'll be able to purchase a Mad Dog design without paying his flat out absurd prices. Dear Maxpedition, thanks for sticking it to this guy and his complete wackjob prices. I've heard of guys who buy into their own hype before, but McLung takes it to a hilariously carney huckster new level.

But hey, I'm sure there are plenty of fools who'd love be parted from their money.

Thanks for just coming out and saying it! I didn't know if it would be considered "in poor form" last time I checked this thread. When I read a little more that had been posted, I decided it should be said, but you done said it!

Quiet, when I meet you in person ( I very much hope I will - and drinks are on me!) please remind me not to step on your balls dragging on the floor behind you brother!

And you know what? I've been putting off buying a Mad Dogspedition for a while. Next payday one shall be mine.

Like I said - I love the designs, but can't afford 2 - 3 grand on a knife.
