Price Increase for Benchmade and Spyderco Coming?

That's a damn good point!!!!

I finally broke down after having a previously owned beat up used iphone 5 and bought an Iphone 6 off the auction site for $150. didn't even want to spend $300 for an iphone 7 let alone a 10X!!! yet everyone around me has the 10X . I am considering going back to a flip phone . and I have also found as has been mentioned already better value for my dollar in the custom knife maker venue . Not necessarily contracting to have a specific knife made but rather watching and waiting for something to be made and offered for sale in a place like BF or some other site.

I can't see why anyone would purchase the iPhone 10. My Ex bought one. To each their own. The only reason I replaced my 4S iphone is because it finally died. Picked up a SE to replace it. Does everything I need a portable phone to do and I have not come even close to tapping into the features it has to offer. Just like most of my knives.

I ordered a couple of Spyderco's a few days ago that were on my "to get" list, and the pricing appears unchanged today. Maybe just some models had a price increase.

I find quite interesting what people dont mind paying 1k for disposable phone what will last 1-2 years , but paying 100-300 for good knife what will last you a life time is too much ?
I guess knife not considered important tool any more.

In fairness, modern smart phones are extremely complicated pieces of electronics that are tiny and essentially always powered on. They're often dropped, exposed to heat (which is death to electronics, especially compact electronics), not well ventilated, and one of the most essential parts to most people's lives, for better or worse.

So phones being expensive isn't surprising to me.

And paying $100 for a good knife is too much, because it usually leads to paying $200 for another good knife, and then $150 for a third good knife, and before you know it...

if it was " extremely complicated " device, they wouldnt print it in millions , Apple sold over 200 mil units in 2018 .
my point is this device designed to be disposable so you have to purchase another with in 1-2 years , and your old one doesnt have much resale value .

good knife will last you life time , and usually you can still sale it and get most of your money back .
