Price you absolutely refuse to pay no matter how good the knife is

I used to only have inexpensive knives and never thought I would spend more than about $50 for a knife. Then I found a $100 I really wanted and eventually talked myself into buying it. I fell in love with it and soon bought a $200 knife, then a $300 knife. I have been happy for awhile, but lately I've been eyeing a Sebenza. I think at this point it would be foolish for me to say I will put a cap on it.
To help you - I held one in the hand recently and was underwhelmed. I'd definitely not pay anywhere near asking price for it.

Even this knife, which doesn't have nearly as much value as the picture suggests, was sold

I bought my first $100.00 knife, a stag Puma Lord, in the 1980s, at a Cutlery World store. That was the best store I've ever been in! Long gone now. Pretty much downhill since then!
Here's one I passed on........ 😂

We were in a high end Jewelry shop on the Plaza in Santa Fe, NM. I'm lucky I made it out the door with an $800.00 ring for my wife being the only thing purchased! Coincidentally that's about the most I've spent on one knife.

Yep….the days of finding a bargain on the Plaza are long gone! Still a great place to take a stroll and a sip or two though.

I generally stay in the under $1000 area but I refuse to answer that I’ve got some customs I’ve dropped $3500 for. Shhhhhhh……….. don’t let the wife know. Just kidding, she spends at least as much on jewelry and purses.

$500 was my limit before I stopped buying any more knives in Dec 2022.

Currently, I won't buy any knife regardless of the price.

Paysan what?

I just mean it all depends on what you’re used to paying for things (not just knives) and how much money you have. There are definitely people who think a $200 expenditure is “cheap” or even inconsequential. I know people who pay $100 for T-shirt’s. Just plain old cotton T-shirt’s. So yeah, in that context a spyderco is cheap.
