Problem with a Trade

It boils down to one thing this Bud/John whomever he is, is not paying her but 9.80 for the knife she sent him, because he feels justified.
I don't think any BladeForums member in good standing would sink this low and tell someone to send a trade and steadily tell the other party, not only did I not send your knife, but now I'm going to do as I please about yours. To the point that now she's only getting less than 10 dollars (maybe, if she gets that) for the knife.
Ashley plainly doesn't have a lot and being ripped off for a 45 dollar knife may just be like a lot of us being screwed out of a 450 dollar one to her. I sure wouldn't feel good about doing this to her no matter what had happened. Any person of decent morals would have sent her the knife back and not communicated futher with her.
So while there may not be a good guy in this, there is one without a conscious and they can apparently sleep at night knowing they caused some struggling person a bit of a hardship. In fact they seem to take some measure of delight in it.

Wow, what a train wreck this thread has been. I got my gallbladder yanked out yesterday and am on some really good pain meds but this thread has been more painful to read than the surgery was.

John/Bud whoever you are. You sir are a thief. Justify it all you want, expain your side of it til the cows come home, but, one fact remains. You have a knife that you are not paying for. That makes you a thief. I have a feeling you don't have a problem with that fact because I suspect your moral compass is a bit off.

Jill and sunnyd thanks for bringing some sense to this thread.
 
I read through this whole thing, trying to catch the relevant points.

My surface impressions are that:

  • Knife Crazied/Ashley is dramatic.
  • Bud Sears is a thief and a liar, or at least he is really good friends with one.
  • John Osham (who is quite likely Bud Sears) should send Ashley $70 (asking price + some shipping) TODAY!
  • Bud Sears should be infracted or banned for harassing members outside of Bladeforums.
  • All this wasn't worth $45 or $65.
  • If some folks would pay attention to their English teachers in high school, they'd be able to make a much better case for themselves in cases like this one.
 
Let me add. IMO Bud Sears ought to be talking to a policeman for the stuff he's sent to jill jackson, sunnyd, and Knife Crazied.

Sending threatening emails is a punishable crime.
