Production Sparrow News Thread

Yep... Reddit. There will be a few that pop up I'm sure!
Maybe its just me but if I'm going to flip something I'm wanting to at least break even not lose money. However I don't know the circumstances so possibly needed to sell for a number of reasons. I've been there. I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a mid tech the few times I saw one for sale there and here.

The midtech is nice. I'm kicking myself for selling that one, haha

The production is amazing. Crazy value.

I picked up a Midtech on the secondary and it was amazing but I felt like I didn’t want to use it because it was so nice, with the mirrored flats and the fact that if I really messed it up, I couldn’t replace it because it’s so limited. I don’t like that feeling so I sold it.

I’m super glad he made a production version because this thing is begging to be an edc with the stonewash scales and blade. I may try to snag a DLC as well because they look so good. I also love the look and feel of the inlays.

Such a great design!

Twinsies! (I think?)

Do like how clean they look, but still getting used to opening it…feels a bit awkward so far. Also like the retention on the clip.
Will try to make a video tomorrow with some tips... I think Coleman may be making one as well that will be better than mine haha. Small tweaks can make all the difference!

Well me and my can’t leave well enough alone lol.

I figured at this point I’d better pull it apart to see the innerds, get a good cleaning and oiling.

I then realized that I had a couple sets of Skiff bearings that may fit that are just sitting around lonely.

The bearings are the same diameter and took them from 9 bearings to 12 bearings.

The pivot hole is a little smaller but still fits the pivot just fine.

The overall diameter of the body is a bit smaller but they fit.

Overall they fit good and the action is better. I’m not going to guarantee that these bearings are the correct size or that them alone made an improvement as just the grease made it better. The diameter of the bearings are the same and now have 12 bearings. Action is tight and zero blade movement upon lockup.

For reference here’s the pivot diameter, so the tolerance with the Skiffs are a little tighter.

The Sparrow is a sharp little sucker, and feels even sharper when it slices into the tip of your index finger 😡 🤦‍♂️ while putting it back together. I really hate cutting myself, especially on my fingertips. Grrr
