Proposed 2022 Bladeforums knife??

Will the rules be posted clearly (and separately) so I can read them when the time comes, or is reading 30 pages of vitriol part of the process?
In years past the rules were clearly laid out in the first post that announced an actual ordering opportunity. I am sure that will be the case again, this thread is not an ordering thread, it is a discussion thread (as was laid out in the first post). Regardless, reading the rules in the first post is usually too much to ask for folks who come in wanting to know if they are allowed to order.

But to answer your question (though I am not a moderator or an organizer of this process), based on my experience here since participating in the 2015 process and every one since then (I didn't participate in the 2014 process because I didn't meet the requirements yet):
Yes.
The rules will be posted clearly in the first post of the thread related to ordering the traditional subforum knife. That won't stop folks from complaining about the rules, process, or not bothering to read the rules, but the rules will be clearly stated.

I’m really pumped that the Forum Knife is happening, AND I couldn’t be happier with the proposed knife. I usually fare poorly in the polls, but I think I won every vote this year!

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed for a smooth roll out 🤞, but will probably distance myself from this thread so I don’t lose my buzz.

Thanks again, Charlie waynorth waynorth for the undertaking!
Cheers to the TF&FB gatekeepers!

I remember way back when, when you had to pay up front before the order was even placed, that there was sometimes a concern that we would not have enough people willing to commit to ordering, to where we would get to the critical number required to even do it. I think all that you needed then was an active account and the money.

I think that was back when Spark was still doing it all through his store. Seems like the Congress Jack was the last one like that - when was that, 2013? Times sure have changed.

This one. I think at the time it was $130, and the most I have ever spent on a pocket knife.

As soon as you say "I remember way back when" you're automatically on the good list.

Here I am, a grown man, having to explain to another grown man, why I didn’t create an account for a knife the grown man had no part in developing, had no part in choosing eligibility, and has no part in the process. I created an account months before it was even announced. Now chill, mind your own buisness, and stop trying to crucify people on a knife forum. I don’t need a “relatively inexpensive knife”, my GEC’s are inexpensive from the dealers. Now have a good day and everyone play nice. You’re stirring a random pot that doesn’t need stirred.
Jack doesn’t need me to stand up for him, but I will. Jumping on him here will get you jumped. Done!

Well, I joined late in 2012, so I was too late for that pretty saddle trapper they did that year. I made sure I got on the 2013 train early on. I was still new enough to the knife hobby to where 3 figures for a pocket knife was a steep mental hill for me to climb.

I've been active enough over the years where I figure I am a Porch Person of Adequate Standing to be allowed in on this one.

You're part of the furniture! 😉🙂👍

I've passed on a whole bunch of forum knives, for various reasons, but definitely think that when longstanding members here want to buy one they should be able to, rather than being elbowed out of the way by ill-mannered opportunists who have contributed nothing to this forum, and who seem to openly view it with contempt 🤨👍

Same here. I think I have 4 forum knives* out of the 9 years I was eligible. Like Nature Boy Nature Boy said, I seemed to be on the wrong side of the votes more often than not. I think I only missed out on one that I wanted, because I was not checking the forum often enough when the ordering thread went up.

* Still own them all, too. :) No flipping here. ;)

heck one of the first infractions i got was expressing my frustration regarding missing the 2014 bladeforums knife by mere seconds! that was a merry chase.

on another note, im glad waynorth waynorth was able to get ebony settled as the cover. 🤣wonder if hell be able to convince Bill to do a factory delete. Bill would understand. In fact, hed probably make mine in cocobolo just for my snide remarks this past rendezvous. Also, Bill enjoys his little jokes about my deletes.

If I remember correctly (because I've also been gifted a few), I think I've only bought 3, and only bought one of those because I had taken part in the polls, and felt obliged to 😁 I have certainly lost a lot of votes! 😁👍

Best I can do is Dead Skunk Acrylic.

Man, I don’t post a ton. Joined the forum last October and heard of all the drama this forum has and the unfriendliness. And I haven’t seen it yet until these last 3-5 pages.

I love my GEC collection. I love that there is a forum knife. If I’m eligible great, if I’m not, I’ll grab a regular run of this upcoming PPP.

Some of the really rude comments just proves what everyone has told me. I now see who to avoid.

As far as the the FB group 98% of the members are great guys and great conversations are brought up on a daily over there. Anyone here that thinks otherwise is just narrow minded. Or spouting opinions on a topic they know little about. waverave waverave does a fantastic job with the group and is ushering in a new generation of collectors.

High horses need to be stepped down from here. Otherwise, make the porch it’s own forum separate from BF so you can deny future members.
