Proposed 2022 Bladeforums knife??

Really? Multiple threads last year, all full of comments hating on Bladeforums and its members for daring to gatekeep our Forum Knife, you didn't see any of the multiple threads? Genuine question.
Honestly have not. I would hope that doesn’t happen in GECC. maybe the “other” group.

I think you need to understand me better. I’m not here trying to fight my way to a knife. I could care less. Truthfully. Just hate all the bashing over another group. Would I like to come here and feel the same as I do about the GECC? Sure would. But I don’t.
There is more knowledge in the history of the patterns within the members here. Won’t argue that.

One reason that many on this forum are so appalled by forum-knife-flippers, is that by agreement with the forum owner, the members who organize and distribute the knife are not paid to do so. When buying one, you agree to only sell at your cost, if you decide to sell. So it's not the same as the free market dealings of regular runs. It's an insult to the efforts of volunteers.
Agreed.

Well, I hope that you found one. I don’t know much about FB and I’ve never had an account. I do know that there’s no knife that I would abandon my moral compass to obtain. That particular club sounds dreadful.
I'm very glad I've never had a FB account either. I probably wouldn't have got my job if HR could look at my antics and hobbies. Just today I realized that my work blocks Coop's photography business site for being a "weapons" site...

When the rules are posted, we'll know if we qualify for this years forum knife or not ... just like previous years
No need for the endless pages of snarky antagonistic bullying, squabble and such
It's up to the mods to decide who posts and what is allowed posted here and not "you", me, nor anyone else
If someone posts something that seems to break the rules, use that button in the lower left (your other left) corner of each post

Yep. He's had ten posts this entire year. (checks watch) Activity that seems to be picking up, right in time for the release of a new Bladeforums Knife, this time in an all new pattern. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, however.

I said I'm not getting one dude. I am a lurker and I have always been, and my post count reflects that- I never split. You can make up stories or bloviate all you want, that fine, that's your thing.

I have nothing against you personally. I just get really tired of this idea that the Facebook groups are all great guys, and we're the bad guys for wanting our Bladeforums knives to go to folks who care about this place, not opportunistic GEC collectors from elsewhere who aren't a part of the Bladeforums community.

Also, it should be noted that several folks who are members both here and the FB pages were posting screenshots of some of the comments being said about us, which would be one reason why they aren't highly thought of. As I've said, I'm also a member of GECC and the Waffle Flipper Joint. Most folks there are pretty cool. My only point is, comments about us, and our community here have been made. That's all.

You also said you weren't getting one last year, and then it ended up on your channel, but hey, I'm the crazy one making up stories.

No doubt!

"Hey Guys! How's it goin'? Guess what? I Looooove Bunny Knives! Always have, in fact! Where do I sign up? I mean, shucks, iffin I even qualify and all..."

You literally said I created an account to scoop up a knife and that’s a fabrication. I think what I said was straight forward. This is why I’m soured. I have been a member for years who mostly lurks. And I have been a member of other forums where they offer forums products. The rules are simple post you want one, when they become available, you buy one. That’s what I did- I screwed up not knowing about the revision… and I paid a price where I got dog piled by about 20 people with high post counts go look.
I did not literally call you out. I said a lot of new members. And yes, many did do exactly what I posted.

And frankly, you just shared you were a low post member who did not read the rules and got a knife, despite you saying you tried to remedy the purchase after the fact.

I wouldn't be upset with BladeForums or it's members. If anything, you still got one and are hopefully enjoying the knife, and still enjoying the content posted here.

Edit- I just realized that you're the Youtuber? Man, I am sorry. I guess I missed that part since I don't see much content of yours here on BladeForums.

So we are both defending the groups we enjoy the most when it comes to GEC.
That right there is love for a brand. I’m not and will never be a flipper. I’m a hoarder. Less fancy word for collector. My GEC collection is my pride. I despise flippers in any arena. I get the defense about the BF knife. Still never liked last years 86. But not everyone wears the same shoes. And the bunny knife in Gabon Ebony is not my jam. Would have preferred the black linen micarta. But it is what it is.

I said that I offered for them to cancel the sale and he declined. My story hasn’t changed.

Ok, that's cool. But my story also hasn't changed. Things went exactly as we said they would. You could have sent the package back. "RETURN TO SENDER" is an actual thing. I'm not mad at you, I just found this attempt at scraping together this narrative that it's somehow Bladeforums or its members at fault for anything here, odd. You took the knife and you just...vanished back to wherever. Also, can we not with the claims of lurking? You run a knife-centric Youboob Channel. You run a channel where you specifically bloviate* about knives....and yet you just lurk here? A guy named "AdvancedKniferBro" with multiple videos talking about traditionals has nothing to really add to the conversation, so you've totally been here this whole time, except just lurking? Really?

LOL Criminy. Can you just call it like it really is? Have some honesty with us? "I got my knife and split, and now I am back, once again hat in hand for this new GEC knife....after which, I'll split again."

I'd appreciate the honesty. We all would.

* I do so love that word.

After last year’s horror story, I gave my forum knife away to another member who had missed out. I didn’t want to carry something that made me think of the negativity during the process- the first forum knife I was actually interested in the process. I just hate for this one to devolve back into that, if I end up eligible and able to get one, I’d be thrilled, this knife looks a lot more “my speed” than last year. By the same token, if I don’t get one or I end up doing another giveaway because it’s not something I want to use, I won’t hold any negative feelings towards the traditional sub forum.

I think the strict “gate keeping” is a necessary evil in these specific circumstances. Especially after the negative things said on the FB groups, then witnessing the rush to figure out a way to score one after this years mock-up was posted earlier. It feels very parasitic on the traditional sub.

This thread is a disgrace and reflects poorly on the sub-forum.

I'm locking it until Frank and Gary have a chance to review it and decide if and when to reopen.

I can't believe that this is what has become of a sub-forum I once considered home.
