Proposed customized BK14

Hawk, you have a fantastic eye for finding the knife within the knife. You took what I consider to be one of the best knife designs in that size, and made it something new and as useful as it is beautiful. I love your customization's.
I wish I could do as fine work. You out for hire ?..lol
 
I'm eyeballin' my 11, wondering if.....I could make it come out half as nice. Probably not, but I might give it a go just to find out what happens.

Ha, I was looking at my 14 with the same thought, though decided against it :'). Me and my toolworking skills are not even supposed to be in the same sentence.

Great job to the OP though, damn. Really clean!

how well does it sit in the original sheath with that mod? Just a little curious here.

TBL- Slides right out. The ultimate plan is to make or have a leather sheath made for it.
As a side note, the most difficult part of customizing an Ethan Becker designed knife is maintaining the ergonomics he created.
 
I like leather better for belt knives. Looks proper ;)

How does the grip feel now that you have extended the handle that little bit?

The grip feels better for me. I always remember when modding anything; what feels good to me, may not work for everybody else.
 
I think there is a really good chance I will be duplicating this mod before too long. Love the end result as far as shape.

HH, your 14 mods........I really dig em. That swedge is just fabulous. I really would like to have this done to my extra 24.

I wouldn't use the word "extra"....that sort of intimates you don't need it. I'd maybe phrase it: "my backup 24" or maybe "my understudy 24". ;)

Being busted by MM for grammar is.....analogies fail me, as that's not even close to the pot calling the kettle black...my mom was an English teacher, sos nun uv dat sheet wuz toilerated in mah howse, ifn ya git ma djrift....
