I agree completely. Good analysis. The pinned handle is nice, but not absolutely necessary IMO. I'm picturing one with the narrower blade as well in neem or antler.littleknife said:These are beauties!
I like the narrower blade better, since this would make a better fighting and/or survival knife.
The blade from the wooden handled one crossed with the guard and the handle from the horn handled one would be almost perfect. I like the nice flare on the horn handled one, however a slightly smaller ring on the horn handle would make it even more versatile for changing the grip/hold during knife use.
I am saving up for getting one.
Thank you lefthandback, for the design and Yangdu and Kumar for making it real.

Did Yvsa design it, or was it made for him? If Yvsa did design it I think it should be either called 'his' knife or the <name of his heritage> knife.
lefthandblack said:It was actually my design, as mentioned above, but Yvsa supported it. There is a link to the original thread above. Not sure why it says Yvsa on the handle, I just noticed that as well.
Edited to add, I seem to remember on the original thread that Yvsa wanted to see a version without the chiruwa handle but with a rat tail tang instead. I believe that is why it says Yvsa on the handle. Very cool.
lefthandblack said:It was originally a combination of the end half of a Chitlangi blade and the Chitlangi handle. It was meant to be a smaller, practical camp knife version of the chit. I remember thinking "Chit-Companion" or something along those lines. If you can think of a better name, let me know. Maybe "Little Chit"![]()
Svashtar said:No, I think you guys are seeing things there. The only thing that's written on the tags on the handle is the wood type, and I think they come that way from the kamis. I think it says "Sisau" or the Nepali shorthand equivalent.
(Actually, "Xisau" is my secret Nepali name, so that one is obviously intended for me.)
