Prune Big, or Go Home!

Get that beauty sharp for the harvest, Harry! Lovely wood:thumbup::thumbup: I used my OVB to harvest a head of lettuce a few days ago:D

Thanks Gevo !!! I am sure that the lettuce was great . We just got our Trug planted on April 14 . I used my Ol Cattaraugus WWII fixed blade to make the rows then . Put in our Lettuce , Carrots , and Radish.

Oh Man I love this Thread,
My good friend Mr. Paul Hilborn keeps breaking his promises and sending me knives - and to others as well, he is one VERY Generous Soul our Paul...
This 47 is Quality all over - Oh man what a knife!!, not the first time I have shown this knife off in Trads, but I have to again, as I received a Box of Knives from Paul with This beautiful Case XX sneaked in a while ago......
I cant believe the Quality GEC are putting out - what a stunning knife!!!

The Gabon Ebony is Stunning, the walk ans talk of this knife is superb - pocket time to the max with this Stunner I can tell you
! Paul my friend, Thank you so so much.....

Yet again, Paul at his best again, sending me this gorgeous CASE XX, now with that stamping this knife is older than me- and thats Darned old!!!, and I gotta admit it's sure Purdier than me as well

Duncan, you are such a generous member and person. It's an honor to help add to your collection. I never gave those big old primers a chance in the past. Your love of these great knives encouraged me to pick one up and finally realize what I was missing. Those Northfields are really nice and yet easy to pocket as well:thumbup:

I picked one up from Barry and after a day thought since you inspired me to try one that the least I could do was send you one as well. That old CASE was an honest to God Barn find. Up on a shelf in a Barn, remarkably only a little rust claimed the blade. All I did was clean the blade lightly without sacrificing that beautiful patina. I put an edge on it and that was it. The CASE however didn't pocket carry well for me at least. The Northfield did very easily;)

So Duncan, thanks to you for introducing me to the pruner;)

Two fine gentleman and to fine pruners! The fact that the old case was a barn find makes it even more special in my book. Great swooping blade to it and swedge. Just gorgeous. GEC rally outdid themselves on that pruner. An outstanding effort! Thanks for sharing Duncan and as always...you hit a home run Paul:D:thumbup::thumbup:

Great stuff gents, two beautiful knives Duncan (GEC did a fantastic job there), and yet another generous act from the great Paul Hilborn to The Legend himself ;)

Could not have said it better, enjoy Duncan, what great gifts from Paul.

Nothing like a big ol' pruner and no doubt some beauties in this thread

Here's a H&B Hawkbill Pruner - brass cap and liners with ebony handles... nice deep H&B etch and pretty full blade...

Thanks for looking...

That's a sweet H&B, LongBlade, looks like someone tried to sharpen it with a file, though.

Thanks Jeff.... Indeed seen some sharpening and you are right... At least it wasn't badly abused in terms of sharpening and abit more full than lots of others I've seen :)

Oh yeah, very full still, and a particularly beautiful flow to the blade, plus a proper big nick. Very nice!

This thread was last up in the spring, when the soil was being turned, and the seeds were going in! So this knife is very timely!
Here in Canada, we have already celebrated Thanksgiving, enjoying some of the bounty of the Earth. And American Thanksgiving is coming up next month. What better knife to have around, than a well designed Pruner!
I have mentioned to Tony over the years, how much I admire his pruners. I have even acquired a Case/Bose collaboration of this delicious model, some years ago when it came out!
But Tony caught me completely by surprise!!
I could not believe my eyes when I opened a fairly non-descript package this morning, and this beauty popped out!!:eek:

I spent the half-hour drive home from my P.O.box whooping and hollering! Scared the heck out of a couple of people on the road I am sure!!:D

That's just wonderful, Charlie! That's some lovely stag too.

Haha Oh Charlie, I would pay to see you driving along - Whooping and-a Hollering! :D I can see why!!!! Man that knife is just superb!!!!

Thanks 1500, Gary, Paul and Duncan!!
It is great to have people appreciate that knife along with me!!

A little late to the party but ....holy mama...the curves, the swedge, the stag, the old wolf I think I can hear howling in the night;):D :thumbup: I sure would like to see all your customs together in one photograph but I don't know if my heart could take it!
