Prune Big, or Go Home!

Goodness me, that is an elegant piece of cutlery indeed! Well done Mr Bose, and congratulations Charlie!

That Stag.....:eek::)

The right tool for pruning the Lotus -Eaters' vines ;) Or taking cuttings.....:D

Regards, Will

Charlie, what a gorgeous custom, I bet you were whooping and hollering the whole way home:D Not quite sure what size it is, appears to be what Lyle calls a peach pruner, this old Wostenholm has similar lines.

Wow again John, look at that Stage!!! Just wonderful. These vintage knives just capture and consume ones heart...sound corny to some? Well it's truly a passion for us here, that there's no doubt.

Duncan and I have discussed how collecting/accumulating changes in the course of time. My vintage collection exceeded 300 knives at one time versus my to date traditionals. Sold all but maybe 1/4 of my vintage collection and when looking back I have many regrets.

Well, lately I have been refocusing on the vintage end of things and can't wait to share and see others during next years rendezvous:thumbup:

Similar indeed, John!! The Bose is a hair under 3 7/8", and it is certainly easy to assume the I*XL is the influential knife here!! I will ask Tony!!

Thanks, Dan, Paul, Mike, Will and Gev!!:thumbup:

Thank you GeV my friend.

Charlie- just look at that knife open :eek:

What a beautiful stunning knife!!!!

Augie - that's a wonderful example my friend.

This thread must never stop.

I agree with you Duncan. I think this thread will live a long time!
Tony messaged me that Reese made that pattern a number of years ago, based on a cut in an 1884 I*XL catalog!!

On another note, those beads you asked about were made by a Wolf Clan woman from the Kwanlin Dun band, Northern Tuchone near Whitehorse, Yukon. I promised to show her your Wolf!!

Wow Charlie.
That's just a great post all round for me- Many thanks my friend- thank you for the information on this beads.
Speaking of - that wee stone that I asked about earlier on - in which you replied it was natural shapes- I keep looking back at that remarkable wee thing- I think it's just too uncanny to be natural- the eyes- the nose- the mouth- I would have sworn it was a carving- I love interesting stuff like that.

While we are talking about a modern custom Pruner, flavored with Sheffield, I thought I'd post a modern production Pruner, with the same flavor!!
And we can sneak in that remarkable wee thing to which Duncan is referring!!;)

I hope we see the Taylor Twins again, after they have been domesticated!
They are very interesting looking - not quite following the rules!!:)

Jack
The twins really do...shine..shine..shine:D:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Gev, I hope they do one day :D :thumbup:

I'm sure we will Charlie, those Twins certainly do need domesticating! :D :thumbup:

Great posts.

Mmmmm those Tayor twins.

I hear they are going to be sent to an Island somewhat like Alcatraz.

A long long way away - an Island surrounded by shark infested waters - the Warden has plans of splitting these twins up- sending one perhaps to the desolate wind blown plains inhabited by only the brave - or the already dead- Northen Dakota.
But we must see just what the twins Custodian of today thinks of this?

Charlie- that is an amazing wee piece.
I can see why one would think its natural - but..... Man!
Thank you as I Will be looking at these more closely in the near future. :)

Great stuff Duncan :) :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Charlie, the Wostenholm is just over 4" so pretty close, posting another pic that shows it with a small Saynor that is 3 3/4" and a couple big ones.
