Prune Big, or Go Home!

Just received this new Case for the fall flower clean up jobs . These are a perfect knife for that kind of work . This one has the " As Ground " finish on the blade and I really do not care for the blade finish . Blade Spine edge was pretty sharp until I chamfered it . It is as sharp as a razor .

Gimel was also making automatic knives under the Bargeon trademark.

I posted this one on the "Hornswoggled" thread also.
She's a Trente-Deux Dumas Aine #32. :D Made for some "heavy" pruning I believe!

Very nice Dave, alright buddy, time you took a VACA and head east to the Dakota's. Bring that BEAUTIFUL pruner and we'll find some pruning to do:D

Nice Case, Old Engineer, and a couple of wild looking French Pruners from Jolipapa and smiling-knife. And wonderful paperwork also from Jolipapa!!!

I traded some very nice Robeson knives to get this big five inch Terrier Cutlery Company EO horticulture jack.

Circa 1910 to 1916.

I have never seen nor heard tell of this pattern before.

I posted this in the Old Knives thread, but it goes here, as well.

That is a real beauty and also a very big one !!!! Great looking bone with worm tracks . Not sure that I have seen a Large Pruner with a second blade .

Charlie I see why you wanted that knife so bad- Lordy! that is a whopper my friend!! at 5 inches closed it's a Monster- I just scored a Neat older Wade and Butcher bigger Military Marlin Spike Knife which I am sure ( until I get it in the hand? ) it's the harder to find bigger version @ 5 inches closed- I just wanted it because the Blades and Spike were in very good order- it has the Ordnance Mark on the Spike, the nicer Wade and Butcher old style stamping - but marked England.

Nice Hawks, wazu!! I like the blade shapes, and the Case jigging is killer!!

Thanks, Duncan! I've noticed that Winchesters don't appear as often as other name brands. There are at least ten Remingtons for every Winchester!! I wonder if anyone studies the production numbers of the old companies. Bernie Levine had some ideas on that subject.
BTW, that ring in the picture represents a knife!! I traded it for a #35 recent production "Yellow Rose". It has Kingman Turquoise, and is my new favorite.:)
