Purchasing my first blade and in need of guidance.

There you go.

Doesn't make it a weapon like a gun is, that has no other purpose. ;)

Oh yeh, and that's the kind of attitude we are talking about. Makes people look at SAKs and scream weapon because they look at ALL knives and lump them accordingly.

Quoting Marcinek again. :)

"You know, if a hammer company said their hammers were great for smashing bones and made one look like a badass, they would be they would be "run out of town" by every tool maker who makes tools for people to use."

All I see is

"This message is hidden because marcinek is on your ignore list."

Stop replying you have done nothing but rant in this thread. Do you have nothing better to do than act like a child who is upset because people view things differently than you? I came here in a responsible and kind way asking to learn from people who are more experienced in this world of blades. Go away

Maybe I changed my mind and started agreeing with you! I didn't...but you won't know. And since I'm on your ignore list my posts shouldn't bother you.

See, son, what you are doing is posting in a knife community. Maybe your desire to "ooze badassery" doesn't affect you, but it affects a lot of people in this community. Drastically. Again...ask our Brit friends who cannot carry a folder that locks if they want to. Ask the people who have to give a reason to law enforcement for carrying a SAK.

Sadly, even if I wasn't on ignore, I don't think you would understand that. But you go on asking for advice from the people your are hurting...see how that works out for you.

I get what you're saying. Not all knives are weapons, but there are knives that are designed to be just that, a weapon. Same for hammers.

I didn't buy a knife though.

Yep, that's it. And the more knives are made into weapons and less as tools, the more the general public will demonize ALL knives. Ever notice why the good guys in the movies seldom use knives? I'd venture to say that knives are viewed as a villain's weapon by the general public.

I never really thought of knives as a villains weapon. Never heard of that correlation. But knives all throughout history have a had a place as being a weapon. It's not just something the general public would see nowadays. It's always been something multi purposed.

The obliviousness is strong in this one. I'm done. Good night! Drive safely!

Good God, man. Stop. Just stop.

A knife is a tool that could potentially be used as a weapon. The ninja shit just doesn't fly around here and the sooner you accept that the better.

Your original question was answered within the first few posts of this thread. The rest of the thread is a stupid internet mud flinging match. There is no point and nothing good will come of it. I strongly suggest you read more and post less.

No. I didn't avoid the question. I just chose not to answer it because it is ludicrous and you are well on your way to becoming a pariah on this board.

Good luck with that.

Seems like most of this community is overly sensitive and waste deep in contradictions. As I expected the moment I found this site and from everything I had previously read about it before signing up. If someone doesn't go with your opinion and ideals you cry until you get your way. And until you get your way the tears won't stop flowing.

Also love the ignorant attitude of disliking anything that isn't a traditional design and refusing to see ones own poor way of thinking. I guess denial comes with being an elitist and being an elitist causes one to close their mind. I feel sorry for the mature members of this site. Having to be mixed in with such a childish bunch can be really unfortunate.

I got what I wanted though and thank the few with enough maturity to not berate the thread with ignorance. You are a small minority.

You're not gonna last long around here with an attitude like that...

From what I've seen there is very few reason to want to stick around. Can you blame me? I came here and in a mature/respectful manner asked for help only to get attacked by immaturity. I am honestly surprised the trolls haven't already been banned. The thread was derailed and no respect was shown from any of them from the start.

This was the third post.

"Not to sure about a company that uses such printed language on their website. Sounds like a trash company to me. I wouldn't do business with them, but I wouldn't waste my money or time with anything they sell, or any company that sells such trash. Just my opinion, and it is worth less than the knife you bought."

Real maturity from the website right away. I asked for advice on taking care of blades. Not to be judged.
