Push Dagger Style Prototypes . . . We Need Your Help!!! . . . Pick Your Top 3!!!

I have a idea, make #3 into a modern version of the Holy Tearer , make it so it will fit the Liberty Heart / Dirt Dart. And then we make sure David Brown has to wait 20 years before he gets his.
🤣

My top three from what the choices are is

4
10
3

I would like # 2 but bringing the grind all the way back is dangerous ( I have delicate little fingers)
If it had some kind of transition like #7 it would so much better.

Here is an idea;

hear me out.

1st I really like # 10
except for the sharpish corners at the rear of the blade.

if #10 had a version of #7's blade that would be awesome. and add the talon holes like # 4

I like the ideas of # 3 and # 11 but fear the handle area would be small for full grown hands ;)

a completely wild Idea I had would be

#11 as the Holy Terror option :)

But please make it for full grown hands.

The small handed can adapt, we with the large hands can only fit in so small a handle.

Please Please do not make the transition between blade and handle any wider.

I have actually used push daggers in to beef ribs to "test" them, with an even thinner transition and never bent anything.

The reason I ask to keep it somewhat narrow is if it was any wider it can hurt your fingers when thrusting.

even if you have little fingers.

I did not pic any of the half circle handles as for most people it would be too much and over fill the palms/hands

having handled almost every Busse model made, past and present over the last 25 years and getting feedback from a whole lot of folks at shows and in person,
some who would and do actually use these for their intended purpose, that is what I based most of my decisions on.

some designs would sell, but only to a few folks.

heck push daggers are a somewhat limited audience any how.

Your point about number 2 is actually very valid. I think it's harder to vote because people might like one handle different blade combo.

Number 2 was primary choice for me because the handle had shorter hooks, I don't want to snag it on anything. But, I did call it as 2/7 choice I think.

Also, from what I remember seeing in some pictures..."full grown hands" was your kid glove size, but it's it's nice for you to watch out for all of us small mitts people hehe. (I have medium size fingers on large size palm...finding anything that fits my hand is generally a nightmare)

Joking aside, quite often bigger handle is actually more comfortable to a point for smaller hand than smaller ones. Especially, in a push dagger design, you want it to fill in the hand and provide more support. Most people don't have any issues with backside of brass knuckles filling up their hand, size is about hole size and spacing.

So half circle wouldn't actually be a terrible idea, but as I mentioned in my post I worry about the weight. If it's to heavy and bulky it's going to look really good on display and not in my pocket. Maybe if it's hollow inside

Hence, I really like 5. Something small, something that can be with you more often.

Granted at 5's size, that compound grind with reinforced tip is a bit of an overkill. Probably have something more sharp than more "armor piercing" at that much handle. On half circle grip that reinforced tip would actually be a really neat idea.

Lastly, a lot of places wouldn't allow any full guard designs by law, stuff like 11. So they'll be relegated to fantasy wall hanger role as they are still pretty cool.

Edit: Also +1 on suggestion not making transition any wider.

If you can make 8's shape and finger layout with 2's {or 10's) handle , and 10's blade. That's the money Jerry. For real

Those are my three but I don't like either of them the way they sit. What I described is for your money the best push dagger design there is. I know that sounds arrogant but I don't care. I've carried one of the many I own on my person for more than 2 decades.. daily.

A push dagger should be between your pointer and middle finger knuckles. No others. Those are the knuckles you punch with.

Anyone telling you to use your middle and ring finger knuckles as the impact point on a punch doesn't know enough about punching. That's a great way to break your fingers. Ask me how I know.

P.S. Thanks for finally making a push dagger.. I have been very vocal about my need of this things existence lol. Imo the best strictly combat oriented blade that exists. You Rock Bussman!

Still 8 and 9 but with #2 handle.
No need for dagger in my habitat....and a Single edge to rips and .....should work too, while you can index Finger the tip of a "multi purpose dagger" just once
