No issue with their ripping off Warren Thomas? Not really anything else to say. They don't make a crap product (first thread), and they upgraded to all ceramic and MRBS (now). Also based on experience the steel sharpens up like it should, so that's another departure from Mantis.

My Murdock (both blades) sharpened up a little easier than 154CM, polished a little easier, and held an edge better, pretty consistent with how CPM154 should be. My Mr Roper responds to stropping like S35VN should. I have already flipped my Mr Roper a few hundred times, and i flipped my Murdock at least 400 times before I traded it, and neither pivot has given me any issues. I even had to power through thread lock on the screws, and they held up perfectly fine, something I can't say for many knives from big name makers.simply sharpening a knife like they should means its okay? lol remember the s30v mantis which was not s30v. or the mr roper that wasnt cpm154, was too soft. or the pivots made of junk that break after 200 flips as mentioned in the reddit thread.
they have made several crap products. they lie about usa made. they stole designs. nothing from these guys is worth getting into or even promoting for others. they ban anyone on instagram asking where there knives are made. you have never seen any qmaster employee make a knife from start to finish, and you never will.
How about Microtech ripping off Kai? Cold Steel ripping off Strider? Yeah, not the first time. Bad to do, but you can't damn one company for doing it while turning a blind eye to the rest.

so your using an example of other manufactures problems, not related to this thread, to justify that its okay. okay to do everything quartermaster has proven to do? and thats okay with you because other people do it, regardless how immoral or unethical qrtermasters actions are?
also where is the data that says you have flipped them over 200 or 400 times? because i have no idea how many times ive ever flipped a knife, its a lot, but i still dont attach a random number to how many times. how is that suppose to prove anything when you don't even have a counter of some type?
where is your proof of the knife properties you speak of. you sound like a professional but i dont see any of your threads showcasing any testing of your knife blades or a journal of data for any testing and timing how long one thing takes over another blade of yours, to prove what you just said. just your word, which is made up as far as we know. if you are going to say it sharpens better and keeps an edge longer, care to prove it? sounds like you are making it up.
So no we've gone from incorrect accusations of ad hominem to actual tu quoque fallacy. Good to know. Also, those companies didn't claim to be working with the company they ripped off, nor did they use their name for promotional purposes. They didn't lie to the public about paying for said designs/collaborating with the designer, so let's add false equivalency to the list.
I didn't say Quartermaster was in the clear. That's where reading comprehension comes in. I said that is not good, but other companies have done bad and don't get defecated on constantly. It all comes back to Quartermaster being owned by Jared West, to which there is no proof. There is no proof as to who owns the company, but a lack of transparency isn't a crime.
As for the flipping count, as somebody who has flipped a few knives so many times they broke, and basically uses some knives as prayer beads, you learn to keep a rough mental note. My Kershaw Thistle broke around 500, but quite a few of those were a wee bit too hard (got the knife too smooth for the stiff detent, it rocketed open like an auto).
With the behavior of the steel, it's just a general feeling you get from manual sharpening. Some people pay attention to that, especially when you have certain steels you avoid because you paid attention (like S30V, don't like the stuff at all). I could be wrong, and never claimed to be an expert, but can obviously tell something like 420J2 from 154CM, even AUS-8 from 154CM. 440C is too close to tell, same with VG-10, harder 9Cr acts similar to 154CM, and vanadium carbide steels are painfully obvious when they are legit. Is that enough for you?
Not really tu quoque, it's more pointing out hypocrisy. I didn't say Quartermaster was in the clear for what happened with Warren Thomas, and I actually most forgot about that because I don't simply dwell on the negative. When the wrongs of the other companies is brought up, which isn't too often, it is generally met with a "Yeah well they make good knives so I don't care", namely for Microtech and Strider. They do make good knives with a particular style that is appealing to some, hideous to others... well look at that, just like Quartermaster. I won't go out of my way to buy one, but I don't buy knives often anyway, so Quartermaster knives are already on an ever growing, never shrinking list. I don't have infinite money, so I buy what I get a good deal on, but Quartermaster doesn't make cheap knives, and they are rarely on sale.
My Nephew that lives in the area checked it out for me, talked to neighbors also. No knife factory there !So these knives supposedly made in a small residence in Texas by Jared Wests's company are just great? Wonder if the city knows Jared is violating the zoning for that building? DO the neighbors mind the noise?
What are they doing with all the CHINA knives they import according to public records? Different branding?
Proven liar once, but turned over a new leaf? Stranger things have happened - but not reliably.
The thread that will NOT die!!!!!

Why should it? Because you love their knives and support them? I don't think so.
