Quartermaster Officially Busted

Here's jared's personal think tank.. full of quality ideas.

this one got me chuckling for awhile. some real talent here...thanks for the laughs.

I watched the "meet us" video on their web page. It's a very nice machine shop. There are no knives being made (that I could see). There were large machined pieces of steel, that aren't knife parts. And all of the tools looked like they wouldn't be used for knives. The only cutting implement I saw was a pair of scissors on a work bench.

And, there were spliced scenes of someone handling a knife.

The law is that if your product is made 51% in the usa you can label usa made on it. however this law is not enforced what so ever. so Jared has decided to make them in china (and mexico etc) and have the made in texas made in usa printed on them in hopes they are never found out.

very bad for them to deliberately lie for sales and marketing.

wensynch beat me too it, but....

The law is actually "all or virtually all" content must originate in the USA.

FTC link .
https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/complying-made-usa-standard

For foreign sales credit tax purposes (FSC), a product must contain "greater than 50% value-added in the USA", but that is a different ball of string.

It does, however, suck if a company is defrauding customers and the USA by claiming offshore stuff, quality or not, is "Made in USA".

"
What if I suspect noncompliance with the FTC’s Made in USA standard or other country-of-origin mislabeling?
Information about possible illegal activity helps law enforcement officials target companies whose practices warrant scrutiny. If you suspect noncompliance, contact the Division of Enforcement, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20580; (202) 326-2996 or send an e-mail to MUSA@ftc.gov(link sends e-mail). If you know about import or export fraud, call Customs’ toll-free Commercial Fraud Hotline, 1-800-ITS-FAKE. Examples of fraudulent practices involving imports include removing a required foreign origin label before the product is delivered to the ultimate purchaser (with or without the improper substitution of a Made in USA label) and failing to label a product with a required country of origin."

quartermaster just stole another design and called it the yoda. Jarad took the Darriel Caston design and made it his own (Darriel Caston designed the Spyderco quarehead).

WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT. Jared has no sole at all. it still says made in usa and knife center is promoting them @KnifeCenter $$$ is money really that good for you that you have to promote a company that is built on lies and false advertising and stolen designs?
Also, theyre calling it "Yoda." Made me realize that all or most of their knives violate trademark.

The biggest smoking gun for me was when they posted a picture of their 'design studio and R&D facility' and forgot to scrub the geo-tag on the picture...

...The picture was taken at a local machine shop that was completely unrelated with the company.

I guess hes in outer space now, using names like alf and yoda give me a break. Its going to take another cesspool truck to pump out the crap that Quartermaster is creating....

So people say the factory address seens to be a residence. I am not surprised.

Don't you think that a company with biometric scanners and thermal imaging is smart enough to use a cloaking device to hide its true building? smh.

I know right. Quartermaster basically IS a top secret blackop. That's how they should spin this in marketing. "Quartermaster, knives so badass we can't reveal the secrets of their construction, or we'd have to kill you"

Edit: I just looked at the Yoda for the first time. It looks like the Spyderco Dogtag's twin that was taken over by the Borg (from startrek) basically an uninspired, dirivitive copy

In on 1.

An excellent optician I know told me how many eyeglass frames are made in China and shipped to Italy, where they get a "Made in Italy" stamp.

"Made in Italy" from global components.

That's because like 2-3 companies make all the lenses for all the glasses in the world.

People all the time try to talk about specs on name brand like ray banz, oakley, costas but just like knives you can get a chinese pair that does the same thing but not paying for the designer name brand.

No. Just no. That analogy is absolutely ridiculous. You must be joking.

No, you couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

Lots of documented reports of serious eye injuries while wearing Jokely etc. that are stamped ANSI Z87.1 but really don't meet the testing standard. The people making the fakes counterfeit the testing marks but don't have their products lab tested.

You should really not post at all if you're going to put up something so blatantly wrong.
