Queen Cutlery

The large trapper looks very nice, that huge liner lock though! That would be getting ground down ASAP.
Yes Cooper cutlery is who I was referring to.
Never made any sense to me having their first releases adorned with pot leaves, I just can’t see many traditional knife fans being the target audience for anything emblazoned with marijuana symbols 🤦‍♂️.

Im younger than most here and I don’t want that on my knife.

Bear and sons is a possibility, but the quality looks to be better than what I’m accustomed to seeing come from them.

The blade grinds and polish on that regular trapper do look very rough Ryder to my eye. The Chinese knives made there just have a style about them.
The most recent SMKW Colonial Coon stag trapper and new stag Queen stag trapper have very similar model numbers: CCGSH54, QGSH54. Bear & Sons has a 4.12" or 4 1/8 inch trapper with the pattern number 54. Fairly certain that SMKW confirmed they had the CC made at B&S on facebook 3-4 years ago.
Make of that what you will.

Makes sense. Seems a bit of a step up from the usual B&S stuff.

I own like one or two B&S and I know they also do Moore Maker's knives.

Here is another new Queen Cutlery #19 Trapper in stag.

I haven't had much time with the knife, but overall I am happy. The blades are centered. Good walk/talk...the Trapper does not have half stops. The blades seem tight with no noticeable movement side to side. The stag looks good, the transitions are smooth. There is a slight proud spot on the shield, but I think that is more due to the uneven and thickness of the stag. I don't see it as an issue, just stating the fact.

I think it's worth the $59 for bone and $89 for the stag. It's nice to have another US option for traditional pocket knives. If they produce something else that strikes my eye, I would buy another.

As far as who make them? Even tho it feels nicer than the only 2 B&S knives I have, I still think B&S are making them.

They said they're coming out with more around the holiday season so fingers crossed those are just as good now that they have interest again.

I couldn't be happier either, they really got the stag right on these.

Still sceptical here...but I don't mind changing my mind later. So these are Moore Maker knives with Queen shields and etches? The first knife shown is hefty, well I'd describe it as obese, those huge Stag slabs and the liner lock tab- unlike on original Queen knives is large and obtrusive. That in the pocket and hand might be unwelcome, pity the presenter doesn't know what the blades are...it looks Drop-Point to me not kinda Clip point.

Waiting for smaller patterns, they might be more interesting.
Same here. These are big honkers and RRR has that lane covered!!! But seriously, folders this big seem almost novelty sized to me. When they build something that’s 3 5/8 with a sub 3 inch main I’ll be here with my money ready to light it on fire!

So over all I would say I'm happy with it, the centering is pretty good. I wish they would have spent a little less time on the belt sander on the blades. I do really like the thick stag. I thought it reminded me a lot of the Schatt and Morgan mountain man trapper but with a liner lock... but then I found the Moore maker.

I am always skeptical when people try to resurrect a company using its name but with no real connection to the original company, but, based on what is written here this seems to be a good product, with similar models to what Queen would have made in the past. 👌

B&S seems to have really stepped up, compared to what they used to produce (based on what owners would say) a few years ago.

My Queen trappers arrived today. I have to say, I’m pretty impressed with the fit & finish. The stag has a nice, natural look with good texture and grip. The large trapper has a liner lock. I’ll be buying the next style available. I’m still curious who’s making these for SMKW.

I'd say with 99.999% it's Bear & Son. Those look just as nice as mine really nice stag on yours!

Someone bought the smooth bone so hopefully they upload here so we can see how that one looks.
