I'm going to miss these guys.

@Arathol said in post #96 that Queen may have made some Case Classics. I'm pretty sure he's right.
I found this paragraph on a Classic forum.
"The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company under Mr. Parker’s stewardship soon finalized its initial plans, collected all necessary resources and started making these knives in volume. Case made four of the patterns & sub-contracted the remainder out to Blue Grass Cutlery who outsourced the manufacturing processes to Queen Cutlery."

As per Harry's request, a few pattern #69's! :D I heard an old engineer once say "The glass is neither half full nor half empty, it's just twice as big as it needs to be!" ;):D
This is the Barlow from the 1st Annual Reproduction Series in 1991. Augie already posted the Red Barlow from 1992 and I certainly can't improve on that shot.....so why try! o_O:D:D
Both these Barlows have a Stew's main blade..........

Well-chosen examples, Will Power, picturerock and Wazu!

Nice series of Barlows, Dave!! Did the first series knives all have Yellow handles?*

*Confession:eek:; I love the beads as much as the knives!!

I bought this 69 on my 1st trip to Titusville in 2015. Pam and I went up on the hill as they call it and visited the Queen factory store. We got to meet Ken Daniel’s and another young lady, I can’t remember if she was a daughter or daughter in law. I went through four or five and came away with this one. It is D2 CSB, I assume that means Carved Stag Bone.

Edited to make it easier!! :D

The are brown bone Charlie! Mine has faded over the years.......:(;):)

Dave

Interesting Dave, I have the Slimline Trapper in this series, bid of an oddball in that it's Sabre ground and mine too has faded to a caramel colour despite living in the knife underworld in the dark for most of the time.

The one I really admire in that series is the Sleeveboard, very pretty. I think Queen used this pattern again recently but with D2 and horn. I have that too but the F&F leaves something to be desired as do the blunt hard little D2 blades...great frame though.

Thanks, Will

Man, just a barrage of awesome knives here. Can't say how much I'm enjoying looking at them.

In 1991 Queen started the Annual Reproduction Series, or Keystone Series as it is often called. This series was limited to 600 pieces each year with the exception of the very first year where Queen made more than 600 pieces. The series ran for 20 years, ending in 2010. I have most of these sets of knives but once again I need to photograph them! This series is what attracted me to Queen and the Schatt and Morgan line to begin with! The variety of older patterns that you just didn't see being produced anymore. Man! what a slippery slope!!!o_O:confused:
Here is the 7th release from 1997, a very dark blue bone, which didn't really appeal to me but the patterns sure did!:D This set contains 6 knives, 5 jigged bone and a pearl Dr.'s knife.

Wow that cattle knife is awesome! Ivory?

I just got the two on their boxes:

Absolutely two of the finest knives I have. My first and only Mother of Pearl and Ivory (other than one I bought for my brother). They're both beautiful covers. The both have great walk and talk and spring pressure. Both are fitted extremely well, no rub, good centering, no gaps. I'm really happy and impressed with them. I have to say, they are both pre-Daniels made. I'd like to try some newer ones, but we'll see.

The trapper was a gift from my dad a few years back. It came off centered with bad grinds and basically an unworkable edge. Now that I put a good edge on it it is a great working knife that I don't worry about.

Queen's version of the Slimline Trapper, their Utility knife. Another excellent example of their Amber Carved Stag Bone with D2 and sharp! I think the WCSB and ACSB series of the early years of this century, are really good pocket knives and are the ones to look out for. Later versions in BEM didn't appeal to me much but their Zebra Wood was exceptionally attractive stuff. After that, and towards the end their, ACSB changed in appearance and quality I feel.

Heritage all steel construction Coco Spear. I also have the Ebony Clip version but somehow, the Spear works better as it's proportionally longer. I showed the Woodsman earlier, the 3 blade Bone Stockman type. What I'd like in this series is the Bone handled Jack, elusive:)

7E52DA84-4AEF-47B7-A39F-FEFB861C264D.jpeg An old, not very appealing pic, that most have seen. I carry it everyday. I know where another is, and am seriously considering getting it as a backup, which I never do, but now... @Augie -!!!! The pruners! Don’t let @wlfryjr see them:D;), he might make you an offer you can’t refuse! Dave-incredible collection. How can I stea...I mean, get you to part with some? Hah! Keep ‘em coming, terrific knives and photos all!
Thanks, Neal
PS-I’d have the other one reground as well, truly amazing cutting from it, for well over a year now. Still mucho steel as well. Simply glides through anything.
