question for Mr.Sal

Hi Gringo,

The Sprint run Military is a standard Military. A 4 way clip will be used on the "2" model when we build it, but it would be rather difficult to just slam a 4 way on the current model.

sal

Awesome news on the 4 way clip for the "2". Honestly the only deal breaker for me on the Millie was the tip down carry. Can't wait for the new military to come out!!

Have you carried a Military before? I was a tip-up only guy until I got my first Millie and was surprised at how well it carried. I still generally prefer tip-up but the Military works pretty damn good tip down.

I could be happy either way. Doesn't really matter to me which way the tip faces in carry. My issue is with the lanyard hole. I need lanyard hole up for reasons that are absolutely essential to my carry but too boring to describe. :)

I am getting a CPM Cru Wear Mili now, but am excited for a 4-way clip. I agree that tip down works drawing it out and being easier to deploy, however I like the peace of mind tip up gives you with the spine up against the seam of your pants. I would NOT want that 4" blade coming open in my pocket. Under normal circumstances, of course the detent is strong enough to keep the blade closed, but let's say I get in a car accident, or crash while mountain biking (I suppose I would not mountain bike with the Military but for the argument's sake) or even just trip and fall, and the impact causes the blade to pop open. Highly unlikely, but peace of mind is a good thing in my book. I have dropped knives that were closed and the impact of hitting the floor caused it to open. Once just a little bit of the tip comes out and grabs anything, it can get ugly fast.

+1 Tip down on the millie just works, feels safer in pocket and deployment is much easier with the massive handle.

My cru-wear is inbound, thanks to Sal for making it, and Joe for making him make it.

Having had a well and truly sliced hand from an open liner lock in my RFP once I agree it can be a problem. It taught me to not want it to happen again.

Thanks to Sal agreed. As far as Joe is concerned I wish I had that large a footprint. Sal won't do anything Sal doesn't want to. :) He just has a passion for the same thing we do. It's not difficult to see who is in it strictly as a vocation and who really enjoys crafting high performance cutlery in this relatively small industry. He has invested a serious amount of time finding out what his customers want and finds ways to get it to them even in cases like Cruwear where other makers would not think of touching it....first. Cruwear is powderised partly in order to make it easier to work. It's notoriously difficult, stubborn, etc. Sal didn't listen to the conventional wisdom when he ran the mules. They turned out pretty well IMO. I honestly hope the powder form was easier on the shop guys. :)

Joe

Yeah, I got a notification the other day, that they were in. Gone in 5 minutes, and I didn't get one. Will there be more shipped? I saw a guy the other day wanting to trade one for a Strider, or Sebenza. LOL, no gouging going on there.
