Just got my first R.J. Martin in Saturday. A Havoc model, tan canvas micarta slabs, crinkle coat paint, tri-grind blade!
First thing I thought - what a great grind! The tip tapers so much it reminds me of my high end kitchen cutlery and this thing has got to have the thinnest behind-the-edge blade of any knife I've owned. Seriously, the grinds on this knife are very impressive.
The fit and finish is very good, certainly no complaints there, the knife is also quite light, at least as light as my Strider SnG CC. The action is smooth and the lockup is solid. There is the slightest bit of left/right blade play. The coating is even and seems very tough.
This particular one was ordered with the clip set a bit lower so it rides higher in the pocket for easier accessibility. I think it's perfect and it carries like it's not there. I have medium size hands and the knife fits perfectly.
At any rate, let's see your Martin's!
P.S. Holler if you know how to get different scales!
