R.J. Martin Knives

I was wondering if that was an S110V Overkill or a regular one, I thought the S110Vs all had the new clip.

If you had the choice of the following slabs on a black knife, what would you pick?

Somehow, I think the "4F" could be carbon fiber. ;)

a.k.a. 4arbon fiber.

I'd take the three on the right... or a piece of meteorite (no joke... stay tuned).

RJ is one of the finest tactical folder makers extant.
  • His Havoc is a bargain considering the ergonomics, snappy lockup, and snappy blade retention as it goes into closed position.
  • I think the key is ball placement and strong spring/liner tension.
  • I don't own an RJ model with bearings... yet.
  • I have a couple older models, Q30 and Q36, pre-flipper, and love 'em. Long term keepers.

RJ's fixed blades are really oustanding also.
  • I have the Trek, Oddysey, and the Vanguard Subhilt (name of which I can't recall). They are long-term keepers.
  • His Japanese knives are on my short list also.
  • I have an old fighter out of M2, from his earlier years (showing a Walter Brend influence), and his earlier influences and tendencies towards pure ergonomics are evident there also.

RJ's insistence on excellence in heat treating really speaks to me also. Bark.

Congrats on your score Mike. I'd go with silver twill for some contrast.

Your eye for detail is better than mine. As I said in my post, it was not my pic. In fact, that pic came off of Les Robertson's site, and was next to a description of an Overkill in S110V that he had for sale. That is where I got mine, but as I look at it, it does indeed have two screws on the clip. Hope that clears up the confusion.

I've seen the orange scales on the all black Havoc once before. Let me tell ya, it was awesome looking. I'd be all in on the orange if I still had mine.

Thanks, bro.:D

Hey Rob, the Havoc has Roller Thrust Bearings.

Ok, I must've lied. I DO own one with bearings... :foot: :D

(See, Gator97FU ... I admit when I'm wrong.)

Not sure how he squished roller bearings into that lightweight, compact form. A Magician, I tell ya' !

MMMmmm... bearings (channeling Homer Simpson) ==> ~(_8^(|)

Bearings are a good thing... Ok, enough liquor... must ... seek ... pillow ...

Rob, you need to post pics of yours!

All the slabs are looking good :( Too bad I can't order them all and swap them when I want. RJ wants to do it himself.

Here's a quick n dirty chop - they all look great!

Rj is the man, always willing to help and knows what he's talking about. Where I go when I need some help. His knives are the sharpest. Always purpose behind his steps. Can't say enough.

I would go with the silver twill.

Paul

Great looking folder David!

True about RJ Paul. The weird thing is that the Havoc blade is quite thin for a "tactical" folder. It's by far the thinnest blade of any folder I've owned!

Oh and I forgot the silver twill chop, which I agree, just might look the best!
