How about telling us about that folder Mr. Clean? It's a beauty. Can you give me some details as to model, specs and all of that. Thanks!

I would love to CZIV!
It's an RJ Martin Q36 in S35VN, orange peel bolsters, OD g10 and black g10 backspacer.

The Q36 is a liner lock flipper. Blade length 3 7/8, over all 8 3/4. The thickness at the bolsters is .120, the frame is .120. RJ uses his roller thrust bearings and slightly-stronger-than-normal detent tomake his knives fire like a rocket. It carries and handles extremely well for how big it is. I'm use to full size Sebenza type knives, some even a tad smaller but this is great to carry.

RJ does all his work in house, HT and all and his fit and finish is the best I've handled. Blade perfectly centered, bolster to frame/g10 fit is extremely flush. All the edges of the blade are rounded nicely and of course RJ has redefined sharp.

Here's a shot from up top to give an idea on his handle shaping and width of the knife.

Thanks Mr. Clean, That sure is a beauty - I love it! I've watched all of the videos on YT about RJ Martin knives. They're fast as all get out, look rugged and are very appealing to me cosmetically. Nice score and thanks for the details.

Anytime!
RJ's knives are, for me at least, tied for 1st as "the one". Him and Yuna. I don't have any other regrets selling all the other knives I have in the past except for the ones made by those two.

RJ was one of the first custom makers on my radar when I started getting into knives. Him and Burchtree. Can't wait to get something from him one day.

Here are some of my "Silent but Deadly" videos:

Wow, what great knives ! I like the one with pearl inlays probably best, although I think DRT may "perform" better in some way.

Doesn't this new ZT collaboration look like it's going to lack the "heft" of a true R.J. Martin as pictured above for e.g.? It looks much lighter and less tough - but what do I know?

I don't think so at all. I think the ZT will be just as tough as a true RJ custom, maybe even a bit stronger. The blade stock is supposed to be pretty thick although the exact thickness is not coming to mind right now. With the planned flat grind instead of a hollow grind it may add some strength to the blade when it comes to lateral force on the edge.

Thanks Tony8179.

I may get one of the collabs, I got on a list. But, I'd really love to own the exact knife that Eternal10 posted above, but I don't know if they're available (new) and if so, I'd have to unload an XM-24 to help finance it. I'm not sure I could do that.

I need to find one in the greater Cleveland area or Cincinnati. It really helps to actually handle one in being more decisive about purchasing a high end folder. It's worth Googling.

Since I'm relatively new to RJ Martin knives and I'd rather not bother him unless absolutely necessary, maybe I can ask this question here. How does one go about buying or ordering a knife directly from him? Is that the most direct method?

Unfortunately, I believe RJ's book is closed to new orders. Your best bet is to try and contact him through email to see when he will be taking orders again. You can always keep your eyes peeled for ones selling inn the forums or you can create a WTB thread.
