Yeah that is the subdued Combat Action Badge. It is worn on the ACU's Traditionally the Army only awarded badges to Infantry (Combat Infantry Badge) and Medics (Combat Medic Badge) This was changed recently and now any MOS other than Infantry and Medics can get the Combat Action Badge (CAB). Appears to be authentic you can get them at the PX for like 5 bucks not sure anyone makes fakes.

that would explain why my Dad didnt know it then, he was pretty sure it was a Infantry pin

Ok so I tried to make some micarta tonight. I made a box with a press out of scrap lumber. Then I cut up some old jeans into strips. Here is where I may have screwed up. I used fiberglass resin. Turns out it is dark green and the hardener is red. Will this stuff dry clear or did I just waste 15 bucks and 2 hours?

It dries clear, that what I use..auto-body fiberglass resin from walmart

This is the subdued version of the combat action badge - the standard is silver. I can't say anything regarding authenticity.

The design is right, but it looks cheap. I wouldn't worn it on my uniform, Sta-bright is the best!

primary arms, I went 5.56. They just called to let me know that they are upgrading shipping for free. I got my upper from bravo company. With any luck it will be ready to go in a few weeks
