Today was my middle nephew's first day AFTER high school. He aint officially graduated yet, but his last day of school was yesterday.

So we messed around with knives. I modded my 14 a bit and made a sheath for it (since I had none for it LOL) and we made a sheath for his hunting knife.
Pretty good time spent IMO

Reason I asked is cuz I'm researching for a fun gun and possible pig hunter. I am currently looking into picking up a lower (if anyone has input, go for it!), and was thinking of a 5.56 upper for range and run and gun, and 300 aac for the hogs.

a decent lower, with bits installed is not that expensive, that having one always installed is not a bad thing (always complete guns)...

putting the time and money into a GOOD lower, with a VERY good trigger setup, and a nice stock? that might be worth it, for swapping around, but i'd almost consider that two projects. plus, at that point, i'd want a GOOD upper, with good optics. then i'd stop screwing with it

I drove by my gun clubs range twice today........never actually made it into the range. I even paid my dues today for the gun club, so I woulda been all official and everything. Instead of shooting the new Kimber I ended up buying a new lawnmower, mowing, weedeating, trimming trees, taking the cats to the vet, and taking a load of crap to the dumpgrounds. The mower I bought is one with a bagger......I thought it would be a good idea and keep the lawn looking better......I didn't realize how fast them darn things filled up. I think I filled half the 8' box on my pickup with grass clippings an the other half with branches.

I jsut realized I have a good 1.5-2 hours of daylight left. I'm going to scrounge some 45 ammo and get the heck outta here.

pics of the slight mod I did to my 14 today (I like how it came out a LOT) and the new kydex-suit.

Soon as my ''Tiger's Eye'' (or whatever it's called) black/orange 550 gets here, I'm adding a lanyard and some fancier lashing to the pack. Just threw it on to test how I liked it.
