Is there any word on who is making Sly's knife in Pearl of the Cobra? Jimmy Lile made the two hollow-handled survival knives for I and II, and the larger wooden-scaled full-tang from III, but since he has since passed away, who will make the new one?

I'm hoping they don't give him a production fixed blade. That would be tragic! ;)

Thanks for the correction, argel55! It would be cool if Hibben made the knife for IV! I'm guessing that would mean it would be a facsimile of the Rambo III knife, just as the knife in the second movie was very similar to the knife from the first.

Sly is a real knife knut (and a Bladeforums member under another name). I don't know what he'll pick, but I'm sure it won't be a production knife.

I guess Unsub disagrees, Cougar :D

I actually haven't liked ANY of the knives he's had, but they had to look scary not practical. I think Rambo should have an Opinel or Mora in this installment. ;) I will kill myself if he has a Dark Ops Stratofighter

What made the first Rambo knife (First Blood) so great was that he actually used it in so many critical situations. That knife was special. I think he was more into guns in the sequels.

To see the first or second Lile knife used in the new movie will be fine by me.

It may sound silly, but if the knife in the new one sucks.... I'll not even watch it.

It looks the same as Rambo III this ad had a one day circulation and appeared in the entertainment industry trade magazines found in Hollywood, CA ......knife here click but this may not be the knife that they use in the film, i read that this ad was circulated in 2005 but this could be wrong, Filming starts for Rambo III in a few days in Thailand.

Not the Rambo III knife again! :D I guess movie knives are always supposed to be a little over-the-top, though. Could me MUCH worse!

I can't imagine they would use the same knife when they could sell thousands of knockoffs of a new style Rambo knife. There is a whole new generation of teen mall-ninja's out there. :D I suspect they'll come up with something new just because there is money to be made.

On another note - Anyone see that Stallone was busted for HGT (human growth hormone) in Australia? Who da thunk it... A 60 yr. old man with the physique of a 28 yr. old competitive bodybuilder taking illegal performance enhancing drugs. :)

Stallone's Hotel Room And Private Plane Raided By Customs

Melbourne, Feb. 20 (PTI): Australian customs officials have raided the hotel room and private jet of Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone in Sydney amid reports that the "Rocky" star may have brought banned drugs into the country.

Yesterday's swoop came three days after the actor was detained after "prohibited items" were reportedly found in the luggage of his entourage at the Sydney airport, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The seized items were believed to be bodybuilding drugs or human growth hormone that are banned in Australia, the report said.

At slys age I think it ought to be a plastic butter knife from the retirment village cafateria. First a new rocky and now a new rambo? Lets dig up Adam West to star in the latest Batman movie. I dont know why they would make another sequel to either movie when the last 4 Rockies sucked and the last Rambo was a joke to. Instead of letting a great set of movies stand on there own greed and wallets rear there ugly head. At this rate they better spray some lacquer on Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones XII.

Edit: Not that I wouldnt like to see more custom kinves in movies, I just cant believe they are even doing this :P

I'd like to see him use the first Lile knife again. If not, then a Randall #1, #14, or #18. Can't get much more American military than that.

Well, if Stallone IS a member of the forum, I wonder how long before BigJimSlade gets an "I'm your worst NIGHTMARE" response.

:D

I'd like to see a Randall(they were originally going to be in the first movie, but then Sly switched to the Lile) get a chance.

:).
